The theater AU is pretty much just SL but it's a play. All of the characters are actors and have fun things going on outside of the play, but somehow they've never really questioned why all of the characters that they were playing as were themselves...
It also doubles as a modern au! There are a few canon ships going on that range from you can believe that they're just besties to WELL DAMN.
(These ships include Muddy Duo [Forest Apprentice/Steve and Ocean Apprentice], Sandy Ice Duo [Winter Apprentice and Desert Apprentice], and of course Colle and Seer. THERES MORE BTW-)
The Golf War is such a good episode to show off how good of a Grunkle Stan is.
-The episode starts off with him making the kids breakfast. (although totally with you on the rejection Dip, hairy pancakes sound less than ideal)
- When Mabel is excited to show off her front page spot in the newspaper he rattles off the headline proudly without even taking in what it says first.
-Great brother points to Dipper for the mini golf suggestion and great Grunkle points to Stan for instantly agreeing just to make Mabel feel better.
-He's completely supportive of her skill + takes care of her pride/confidence by fostering her rivalry instead of just telling her to dismiss Pacifica.
-Before the actual competition between the girls, Stan gives Mabel a trophy sticker. It's partly showing that she's already 'da best', but could also be him preemptively readying her for a loss (even if he doesn't believe she'll lose). Just a little reminder that he believes in her and that it isn't dependent on whether or not she actually wins the rematch.
Me when I have four different projects to do but I doodle more ninjago stuff instead
