* ― PAYNE WAS DRUNK : at least her version of it. the first time that she told ace she thought she was beautiful. it wasn't that payne was hiding it. just more she decided keeping her thoughts to herself, were best knowing the other was married. and she respected that.
* ― THAT'S NOT TO SAY : the history buff in payne. doesn't quiz the hell out of ace at every turn. wanting to know her story regarding some parts of history that she's seen. she of course understands the things ace never wants to mention, and accepts the things she tells her. with a smile and an open door whenever ace needs it.
* ― PAYNE ASKED FOR ACE'S HELP : with her self-defense. when it became apparent that payne had to up her fighting, due to her brother easily overpowering her everytime the two met. payne thought of no one better to help her than ace. of course she got her ass kicked the first few hundred times. but under ace's tutalage. payne became a force to be reckoned with.
