We’ve been a fan of Simen Mitlid’s folksy music for years, even though it’s been awhile since we last caught up with the Norwegian singer songwriter. We even premiered one of his songs three years ago, so charmed we were by the musician’s intricate folk pop, crafted with lush strings and earthy plucks. So, it was quite the pleasing surprise to find out that Simen Mitlid’s sophomore album Neutral was born into the world last Friday. The 10-song full length arrived with a gem named Reality Tsars, which captures our hearts anew with its gentle, vernal folk and a dreamy gliding glow. The former easily evokes Jose Gonzalez, but infused with the tender tug and dewy ambiance of Aquilo. Listen to Simen Mitlid’s new album Neutral in full, here.
