By the time that Darwin finally can bring himself to go to class, class is ending, naturally. His classmates are in the hall, chattering about everything from their upcoming exams, to where they plan to go to drink for the evening, to who broke the toilet this time. No one is shell-shocked from the trauma of trying to comprehend a teenage girl’s unfathomable situation, or feeling the afterburn of a stinging near-confession. Or moping over their less-than-adequate fertility. He envies them.   Flynn catches him up regarding the day’s lecture, but it’s nothing that he doesn’t already know. So he does what he’s been doing for most of his life–he smiles and nods, an action that has gotten him through more than one period of madness. He doesn’t need to burden these kids with his problems. They’ll have their own soon enough.

Good morning, Tumblr! So remember these doctor’s coats that I was working on about a year ago? And how I kept complaining about all of their issues and how they kept breaking and showing weird display errors and whatnot? Well, this weekend I decided to try starting ALL over again with them--I was gonna sit down and re-make every one of them from scratch, and it wouldn’t matter how long it took, I was gonna get ‘em done, etc etc. I actually did re-make one of them (the one with the long tie) and spent about 4 hours last night getting it right. Then I brought it over into my real game for testing, and just for a lark, decided to test some of my other tops that were having issues in times past as well. The bolo top, in particular, was having a very strange display issue that showed the top’s alpha, so you just had a flat white undershirt/vest. VERY weird.  ... and as you can see, all of other the tops that were having issues last year? With absolutely no further work on my behalf, they’re perfectly fine. They display correctly, they look good, no neck seams, the jackets animate correctly, blah blah. It’s probably a good thing for this game that I can’t punch the computer screen. XD ... ahem. So, yes. Hopefully these will be coming to a download area near you in the next week!

For Éme: Do you miss any part of living and teaching at Sim State? If so, what?

Éme: “I do miss Sim State. A lot. I miss being able to watch the sun set from the park behind my house. I miss my students and my office. I don’t think I can replace half of the books I had to leave behind. I miss All Night Word Fight at the coffeehouse and Open Mic at the Grotto. I’m going to have to miss seeing one of my least promising grad students finally earn his doctorate and be awarded his diploma. I miss the pet adoption days and the homeless shelter feeds and the campus cleanup events. And I miss Darwin, although part of me genuinely hopes that he’s too happy to miss me.”

Sure, thanks! I can confuse words when I’m queuing posts in hurry. Adultery has quite an interesting meaning, so I’m glad that I got corrected. To everyone - don’t be shy to correct me when I make a visible mistake! It’s better than leaving the post this way.

True, we haven’t started real studies yet and I already feel exhausted, it would be more use even just staying home and playing sims the whole day, than going to uni. Education in our country is so lame, they teach us a lot of unnecessary subjects and give homework which won’t give us any knowledge at all, everyone just copies these essays from internet and buys lab works. Don’t let me start on PE, I thought there’d be some fitness or anything else to keep fit, but we just walk around the park for an hour under control (like we can’t do it by ourselves)! If I could, I’d attend only language subjects and would have a lot of free time for self-development :o

Cool! Looks like it was a fun trip :) I haven't been up that way in a while--most of my beach trips are down near the Wilmington area.

My sister and brother went to UNCW back in the late 80s/early 90s!

It was a fun trip overall for sure.  There were times when I was about to throttle my brother in law (dude, I’m going to be 40 in like four months; I assure you I won’t ‘change my mind’ when I’m older you fuckwit), but the good definitely outweighed the infuriating.

That's about 4 hours from me! You're coming in just in time for the hurricane. It's not been too bad (but I grew up in Florida so I kinda just shrug). Hope the flight goes well and you don't have any delays!

I was talking to my sister earlier and she mentioned that, and I got so excited!  She was like “I was hoping we’d have nice weather for your visit!” and I had to remind her that I have a different idea of ‘nice weather’ than some people.  XD 

Are you around the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area then?  I lived in Durham for 6 years when I was younger!

Have fun in Duck! I only remember what that is bc my parents have a Xmas ornament from there. :P

That is so random!  I hadn’t even heard of it until a couple of years ago when I was out in the Outer Banks with my entire family.
