I’ve have waited (procrastinated) all day to write this post. I am on a book launch team for #imperfectcourage by @jessicahonegger Yesterday, she challenged our team to “flip” the conversation and share what we love about our bodies. If you’re a woman, you know how hard that can be for us. There are so many back stories, and feelings and words that make us look poorly on our own bodies. So, we complain, compare and cover up. • But the truth is that God created these perfect bodies with all their glorious imperfections. He created them this way for a reason, and for wonderful purposes. So, I thought I would tell you a part of my body that I’m most proud of. I’m sure @jessicahonegger will allow my poetic license when answering her question. • I am most proud of my stomach. It has been an incredibly strong six-pack in my athletic days. It has worn bikinis. It has also been covered up on the hottest of days. It has carried five babies to full term and stretched so far I thought it would burst. It has felt the pain of loss. It has worn postpartum flab for months. It shines with stretch marks. It has been a trampoline for bouncy toddlers and a pillow for snuggling children. It has been criticized for being too small and questioned for being too big every time I was pregnant. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It has been strong, and weak, and strong again. It tells some amazing stories of this journey I am on. It makes me proud. • Can you flip the conversation and share what you love about your body. Let’s change the conversation together! • #imperfectcouragebooktribe #fridayintroductions #everybodyisbeatiful #simplylizsmith
