A little look at Jericho, my long-running Sims 2 uberhood. I’ve been playing this neighborhood for about 4–5 years and I’m currently on generation 5 with several legacy families. Still expanding, still chaotic, and still full of stories.

It currently includes multiple subhoods, universities, downtowns, and vacation destinations, with dozens of households.

Expect lots of families, interconnected storylines, and the occasional mystery.

Nestled between rolling hills and serene lakes, Swansdale captivates with its historic charm and vibrant community spirit. This picturesque haven, born from an empty plot of potential, weaves dreams into its cobblestone streets. The town, named after graceful swans that glide across its waters, reflects a unique blend of natural beauty and shared aspirations. Residents, drawn by the allure of new beginnings, create a tapestry of connections, celebrating unity during festivals and discovering hidden gems. In Swansdale, every cobblestone tells a story of the enchanting community that thrives in this tranquil and welcoming haven.

Swansdale is a Sims 2 Build-a-City-Challenge using ChatGPT to write the story. New technologies fascinate me and I want to explore what AI can offer in terms of storytelling and generating new ideas. For the last year I’ve been reading up on creativity, how we define it, how you can nurture it and whether it is something you can learn. AI challenges the concept of creativity and gives a new perspective on questions of what makes us human. In telling the story of Swansdale I hope to explore the strengths and weaknesses of using AI, discover how I can make the most of ChatGPT and come to an understanding of where it falls short and what is left of human creativity when AI takes over. 

The basic story of Swansdale has been written by me. I’ve created a background story for 8 founders, including their names, aspirations and reasons for moving to Swansdale. I’ve fed this story into ChatGPT as a starting point. In my posts, everything that is in italics is coming straight from ChatGPT, regular text is written by me.

The City

The Post-Apocalyptic Matriarchy

Catastrophes have left the Simsworld in shambles, with most of its inhabitants dead. Four women try to rebuild the world in a new way. A society without money, marriage or modern technologies. The documentation of a post-apocalyptic hood with specific rules. Ongoing.

Cindy plays God

A story about Maxis Premades. Cassandra wants Don, Dina wants Mortimer, and Don wants everyone. Everything that happens is based on real gameplay in my Uberhood, but the texts are written in a story-like manner. Ongoing, but taking a break at the moment.

The Midnight Express

An old legend. A strange train. Maybe Cassandra Goth's only hope of finding her mother. The midnight express is a short and sweet, yet dark and creepy Halloween story. Not related to Cindy plays god, although the Sims 2 premades are in the main roles once again. Concluded.

Until Night Falls

Jane's life is pretty perfect - until night falls. At night, she is forced to deal with her past and present demons. A thriller I wrote years ago and translated to English later. Concluded.

It's another recommendation time! :D This Sims2 story is called 'Thirty' I believe and it's set in a yearly basis in Pleasantview written by @dunne-ias.

Yes (OF COURSE) it's another Pleasantview based one! (duh!) but yet another take on the same set of characters!

I love it! Especially as it doesn't paint people as perfect, it shows all the nitty gritty of a person and accepting their flaws and improvements! Please give it a read, link is to the first page/prologue.
