Dear Evan Hansen broadway closing tribute
I know how much this show has meant to myself and so many others. It’s sad to see it close, but the Broadway production shutting down by no means is indicative of the fandom disappearing. We’ve been through ups and downs and I know many have come and gone, but I’m sure we can all come together for one week to share our love of this musical in a big way.
You don’t need to be an established creator to join in. You don’t even need to make art, or fanfic, or anything like that—if all you want is to take the prompts and write a couple sentences musing on your feelings about the show, that’s more than welcome! Unconventional tributes are encouraged. Make a collage! Record a song! Write a poem!
I’ve never seen a fandom more full of passion and love. For the story, for each other—you have all been so kind. So much beautiful art and writing and meta has come from this story; so let’s all come together to give this show the loving sendoff it deserves.
Each day of the week preceding closing has two prompts, which you have the option to choose between or even combine if you so choose. You’re welcome to interpret them as literally or loosely as you like. You don’t have to participate in every single day, just whatever ones call out to you!
Sept. 12th: Favorite character / Favorite relationship
Sept. 13th: Apple Orchard / Dining table
Sept. 14th: Isolation / Belonging
Sept. 15th: Favorite song / Favorite scene
Sept. 16th: Family / Friendship
Sept. 17th: Falling down / Getting back up
Sept. 18th: Free day / Favorite memory
Reblog to spread the word of the tribute, and make sure to tag this blog (@sincerely-us) in your posts the week of so I can share them! I’m excited to see what you all come up with.
Keep going until you see the sun. ☀️

Happy belated @sincerely-us day, @someone-online! I’m so sorry this is a little late, but I’m overjoyed to get this to you now. Your prompts were so wonderful, and although I focused on the second, I managed to get a little of some of the others in, too. Happy summer and I hope you enjoy :D

It only took two disgruntled beeps of flooding alerts, one half-distressed viewing of the weather channel on TV, and three thunderclaps and preceding faint flashes of lightning for Larry to succumb to his baser instincts: he strode to the closest light switch and raised his voice to a non-neutral level, calling “Electronics unplugged and to the basement!”
If he strained his ears, he could hear two distinct groans filtering from upstairs as his teenagers grumbled about being removed from their rooms. Cynthia appeared at his side, holding some self-help book or other.
“The storm’s not gonna be that bad, hon,” she said, plaintively as possible. When he simply raised an eyebrow and looked back through the window at the increasingly violent conditions, she did her best to hide her grimace. “I’ll set up the candles, then.”
my gift for @beccathebiscuitbaker as part of the @sincerely-us gift exchange! hope you like it! been years since I've drawn these guys

@sincerely-us Dear Evan Hansen closing tribute prompt: favorite song/favorite scene
Although Zoe is not my favorite character, Requiem is probably my favorite song. The pain she expresses through her song has always spoken to me since I discovered the show back in 2018.
Back then I was just a kid with parental issues, now I’m a depressed adult who still has parental issues—but I’m trying. Zoe’s feelings of how everyone expects her to be sad, and feeling anger in her brothers passing always resonated with me. I was never allowed to show anger as a kid, even when it was well deserved.
The movie and book also had good Requiem scenes in my opinion, I like watching Zoe visually give up and stop controlling her life, and I also like seeing how Connor doesn’t resent her anger. At least not fully. Zoe doesn’t like second guessing her pain, but the world around her expects her to be a shell of her former self. It’s beautiful to see her true expressions.
So anyway, as a send off to the show from the small community of deh fans I built while in high school, I give you me singing Requiem in front of the majority of my home town:
