The performing of Sindentosca is a reason for me to come to Soho Ciwalk by itself.
It was only last nite – 31 October 2008 – I was forcing myself to come the by exactly nineteen hundred. I was definitely curious about Sindentosca and its music that I listen to – so be it.
My subjective view about Sindentosca...
Sindentosca is one–man band I think, and a man behind it is named Jalu – sounds really Javanese person.
I didn’t exactly remember when I listened to Sindentosca in the beginning, probably since six or five months ago. I might say, Sindentosca has composed the brilliant music yet – at least for my ear and my taste of music.
It was Kepompong the first song that I listened to on the Radio – Prambors Nu Buzz. Then I came to Shodiq – one of the employees at the Erpedana – the other day and I went; do you have any other songs from Sindentosca? Then, he gave me another song called Moly Andersen. When I listened to it for the first time – suddenly it was like there is a light in your mind and I went; I don’t care it’s fucking great man, it’s tipically songs that I like. It was the same feeling when I listened to OAG – the greatest Malaysian band ever – OR Pure Saturday for the first time… Amazing…
It wasn’t far from Moly Andersen, Shodiq gave other songs again; it wasn’t a single song but two Albums at a time.
First is Tiduran, Tertidur + Bertelur – I might say this album is just so so, the thing is I like when I have something new to listen… Second is a folder that contains of; Aku Tau, Alin Tak Hujan, Kepompong, Ku Hanya Orang di Jawa, Moly Andersen, Pulas, and Turun Naik. I don’t actually believe this folder is a real album. I listened to it then I went; this is it, that’s the tunes man. For some subjective reasons I really like the songs within.
The tunes sound quite synonymous to the British sound I reckon, in addition, Jalu’ creativity to compose the chords and the melodies really catches my ear, plus the way he mix–match the word for the lyrics is quite different compare to other local musicians.
The arrangement and the mixing of the songs isn’t perfect, I might say far from perfect actually, yet I see the brilliant ideas behind the songs, and that is would be why I like Sindentosca.
Back to Soho Ciwalk.
They charged me 10 thousand rupiah to watch the performances; there were 3 bands that nite. First one I don’t know the band, second band is Ykha’ band – which I don’t know what is the name of the band, and last performance by Sindentosca.
What was it like – the performance?
It was a full band performance. Jalu plays acoustic guitar, a girl plays accordion, a girl plays a bass, a guy strings electric guitar, and a guy hits the drum. I’m sorry I didn’t know the name of each band members.
Jalu seems had a sore–throat that nite, and it was very good to see accordion to be played, I never saw before, and the bass player is talented in playing it I reckon.
Sindentosca sang only 7 songs that nite; Sebatas Teman, Just Look at Me, Pulas, Ku Hanya Orang di Jawa, Kepompong, and two others song that I didn’t recognize the title, these two songs were performed only by Jalu and his acoustic guitar.
It was a very nice performance, I've got to say...
Cheers

For some reasons I don't understand, I really like this lyric actually, it's from Naik Turun by Sindentosca as well.
