It was around this time last year that three channels popped out in YouTube, from 3 mysterious groups who are apparently singers and dancers. Instead of the performing group, the recognition were given to the people behind the videos: the choreographers, producers and composers.
At first listen, we immediately know that the performers are JUMP. The channel names are also a giveaway: Honey Bee, Sindibaad, and John Darling.
This was during the time when Jstorm just started its youtube channel and no JUMP videos are uploaded yet, so we were confused. JUMP’s first youtube videos are... not from them? Why? Why hide behind masks and personas? It was very weird because it felt like a normal music channel, with the comments section open, unlike the videos in the Jstorm channel. Each “group” also has its own website, as if they’re individual artists. I honestly thought they were going to be independent lmao.
Since the comments are open, I chatted away there. I made sure I share my feelings to them everyday. I also enjoyed talking to old fans who either recognized it’s them and just need a confirmation, and new ones who are eager to know who they are. There were also comments from Japanese fans saying that we should not give out the group name in the comments, as they probably have a reason why they used personas. I remember I felt scared, because why would they keep us in the dark like that. The videos and songs were beautiful, but why hide? But I also felt excited, because whatever this is, it’s gonna be a big explosion if they’ll reveal the truth. Whatever their reason was, I trusted their process and I just enjoyed this confusing time.
A year has happened since then, and a lot has also happened. One member down, 3 singles, perfect use of SNS for promotions, and an upcoming Arena Tour, these boys will stop at nothing just to make sure to bring happiness and entertainment to their fans.
Happy one year to my Honey Bees, Sindibaad and John Darlings. To more surprises! 🐝💞
