Hiya! I was just wondering if sindryls are open species? I want to create one but wanted to make sure you were okay with it ^^

Hi! I’m so happy you like Sindryl enough to want to create one c: I should have gotten around to it ages ago, but I was planning on making them a semi-open species (there are some guidelines they need to follow regarding antlers and feathers and colours and such c:)! I don’t think I have a good full-body drawing of a Sindryl anywhere, but if you still want to create one, that’s totally cool! If you wouldn’t mind sending me the design once you’re done just to make sure everything checks out, that’d be awesome. Thank you so much!

Here’s the basic guidelines for Sindryl:

 - Their skin (under their fur) is always black. You can see their skin on the palms of their hands and on their feet.

 - Their fur is very short. They might have longer tufts on their elbows/butts/along their spine.

 - Their main body colour should always be natural/neutral tones (no bright/neon colours). A good test is that if you could conceivably see the colour on a real life dog, then it’s probably ok c: It’s ok for them to have white fur! They can have any combo of natural colours.

 - Sindryl are not mammals, so female Sindryl do not have mammary glands (breasts). Male and female Sindryl are indistinguishable aside from the fact that female Sindryl have feathers at the base of their tail on either side, and males do not.

 - Sindryl crests/feathers can be much brighter! Look at pics of tropical birds for inspiration :D

 - Sindryl live to 400-500 years old. They grow an antler tip on both sides for every 30 years they live, so take this into account when deciding how old they are :)

On this episode of ‘Rin Is Feeling More Confident Drawing Bodies But Can’t Fucking Draw Hands’, we have a Ruhan Shoyato telling his friend that there’s something over there. Him and his stupid dumb bird feet. I love him.

PSA: Torvus

Hallo all! I have had an excruciatingly long week and whilst I haven’t managed to get many actually useful things done (as is my way), I have recently been working on Torvus!

I realise I may have not formally introduced Torvus, so that’s what I’m gonna do now! (AH, I’m killing myself with my own cheesiness here but the show must go on X) )

Torvus is one of my headworlds, and one of two that I am actively working on (the other being Rin’s world, Theta-4). It is home to my own original species, Sindryl (which are closed for now as they are still very much in development), and is largely focused around the city of Oasis situated on the planet Torr, within the Omega-Torvus star system. Oasis is very much inspired by middle-eastern architectural design and is founded almost solely on values of knowledge and information. The Sindryl as a species value the gaining, archiving, and passing-down of knowledge above all other species-wide endeavors (humans, for example tends to focus on all areas, though I would go as far as to say we are a fairly militaristic race (that’s a discussion for another time, albeit an interesting one)) and as a result are much more advanced than they could be considering their relatively short existence.

I am slowly building up information on Torvus by putting it all on the Torvus Official Wikia, which you are more than welcome to read through even if there’s not very much on there as of yet!
