Some Prof Puzzles and SING! AU doodles I did at school today!

I compared Ugatha and Prof Puzzles’ heights, and bro Ugatha is SMALL compared to Puzzles. I think if I remember correctly, the height chart said that she’d reach up to his elbow. Feel like depending on his mood, Puzzles will make a little joke about how tiny she is compared to him. (Also some ducks and dodges art as well, I love them sm jsjskskks)

And btw, due to what happened to Clara, she will NOT be returning to the university anytime soon.

Of course, I can’t leave angst out! (Also revealing Elix’s last name 👀)

Not for the Prof Puzzles AU, but here is if Ugatha were going to have a baby. I have a feeling that Puzzles would be EXTREMELY protective, and would stay by her side at all times, no questions asked.

I’ll come out with the sideblog for the AU soon, so keep your eyes opened! :]

Look. Roaring 20s au has so much angst potential fr ON TOP of the found family shit.

So obviously the kids didn't see the Great War. Too young to enlist or be drafted. Johnny's dad probably flew under the radar between being an immigrant, labor job, etc.

But Buster and Eddie probably avoided enlisting until 1917 with the conscripted service act which drafted people. And yeah, Eddie's rich but he probably wasn't going to college. Granted, that's only 1 year on the front but Shit! Everything was intense because new military tech was being used for the first time, and NO ONE had seen casualties like it.

They come back. Eddie is more listless than ever (seeing what he saw? Had the opposite affect of "What's the point?!" On him than most of the world come the 20s). Buster is stuck in his own head for a bit....until his dad presses the key to the Moon Theater into his hand. And suddenly, Buster has his calling back.

Clay by then has become a recluse. Hearing the atrocities of the war and then your wife dying? It's a bit not great.

So, getting to the actual 20s - yes, Buster is struggling. I mean, yeah, theater and vaudeville are great but they're everywhere. So a little bit of poking around the building plans finds another theater underneath the mainstage (because it's a gilded Era theater and they were just doing wack shit with hidden theaters and music halls) and he goes. Oh shit. I can run a speakeasy.

So there we go, he goes off to find people to help run the place - bootleggers, performers, the whole 9 yards, ON TOP of maintaining an actual theater.

Getting from a to b is fuzzy atm BUT you get the crew who are passionate about performing and love being able to go a little wild (c'est les folles années), and YES they almost die because Mike owes the mob money and YES they have to fight people being xenophobes because 3 of their cast members are immigrants or their parents are but fuck those guys. They're running the newest joint and brightest theater. It actually pulls Eddie out of his own nonsense because he's given something to actually do that doesn't make him feel like nothing.

Nana is obviously helping back the place because dammit she wants to be able to enjoy champagne outside of her house.

When it comes to Jimmy, he's some new money bastard. Extravagant, over the top. Focused on being the Best and Brightest....and running a criminal empire to keep things funded and under his control

Porsha is fully in the flapper swing. It's wild, it's fun! The skirt is short, the dancing is crazy, and she doesn't have to think about anything, not how her dad is cold and distant half the time or the number of people he hurts.

A Beastars X SING movie crossover.

Johnny enrolled to a boarding school called Cherryton Academy since he doesn't have a proper education. Same class as Legoshi and year. This was before sing 2 soo Johnny is still be performing to the New moon theater as a Proper job. (How will he rehearse ? Every night just like the theater is)

Also Johnny joins the Drama club as one of the production crew lighting I mean.

If Johnny and Ryan had met when they were kids - maybe Ryan's family living in/close to the town Johny lives in, before moving to the big city - Or an AU where Ryan is a part of Sing 1, how would you imagine that playing out? Any headcanons?

Oooooo, great question! I'm gonna split these two up between your two asks since they're about the same two topics, so that I can go more in depth on each one. This is going into if they met when they were kids, I hope you enjoy!

In this au, Ryan and his family would have moved to Calatonia right after his youngest sister was born since she was sick to be near a better hospital. Ryan was 14 and while he was offered to stay in Klaus’s troupe and live at the dorms, he ultimately decided that his moms and sisters needed him there.

Since they probably moved in the middle of the year as well as Ryan spending his free time helping his moms with Amy so they could be at the hospital, Ryan was a bit of a social outcast. 

Which only really helped him meet Johnny faster, as they were paired together for class projects since well, no one else would pair with them. Because of that, the two started hanging out and actually becoming friends, eventually even spending time together outside school.

Ryan definitely caught on to the gang pretty fast (literally one trip to the Taylor’s apartment and he knew) and confronted Johnny about it, sparking their first fight. But once he realized why they were stealing and that Johnny didn’t actually want to be involved, they patched things up decently quickly.

After that, they were pretty much inseparable, even as Ryan got more popular in school over the next few years. Ryan was the only one Johnny told about his love of singing and Johnny was the only one Ryan felt confident in telling about his regrets of leaving dance, even if it was what was good for his family at the time.

They continue to be each other’s entire support system up until Sing 1, with their only really arguments about Johnny’s increasing involvement in the gang. Ryan calls Johnny the moment he hears about the singing competition to encourage him to try out and even goes with him to the auditions. When the gang gets arrested, Ryan shows up at the garage with scallion pancakes and custard bao buns, for once doesn’t argue with him about the gang, and just helps him pack a bag so he can come stay with his family.

Ryan also would tag along to the theatre last minute remodel and help, along with bringing food for the performers (his mom’s idea). He also helped Eddie work backstage during the show and comforted Johnny when he was clearly upset (we could also have a shielding scene from Ash’s spikes here). Ryan’s visibly happy when he notices Johnny reuniting with his dad and he’s also in the ending photo at the new theatre.

I think that sometime within the year in between the two movies, Ryan would have gone back to Redshore on his own and eventually gotten his role back in Klaus’s troupe in time for Sing 2. He does keep his troupe’s involvement with the show a secret until Johnny shows up to class however, surprising him with an excited hug.

During the course of Sing 2, we would actually see Ryan fighting Klaus’s treatment of Johnny on screen (not that he didn’t out of this au, we just didn’t see it). This would lead to a series of escalating arguments between the two during classes and when Johnny had his panic attack, Ryan actually quit and went to comfort him instead of doing what Klaus wanted him to. They work with Nooshy together and also do the final performance together as both of them against Klaus this time. We also see Marcus greeting him with a clap on the shoulder and him being treated as a member of the family as well.

I wouldn’t really do anything except hinting at a Rynny plot line til the second movie mainly so we could see character growth and relationships a bit easier in Sing 1. However, in Sing 2 we can easily add in the two spending time together along with more flirty interactions. During the rest of the performances, Ryan and Johnny can be seen holding hands off stage, and seem flustered when Nooshy apparently points it out but don’t stop. Ryan is also asleep with his head on Johnny’s shoulder on the bus back to Calatonia, and we see Johnny smiling at him softly.

TL,DR: Ryan and Johnny were each other’s support systems and Ryan essentially served as Johnny’s version of Eddie in Sing 1. In Sing 2, we get to see a lot more development in their relationship and a potential ending alluding to them being a couple.

just another johnny au (sick au)

now, before you say anything (and start shaking me to explain what’s going on):

yes, i have been thinking of this au nonstop since last night. yes, i spent my time drawing it today. and yes, i am posting this before bed because what is sleep?

i am going to expand more on this (since you guys already know angst is my favorite, especially against favorite characters), but it’s basically an au where johnny has thyroid cancer.

it’s a hereditary disease that was passed down from his mom (which was what made her pass away when johnny was younger). the symptoms started showing after he started performing for the majestic theatre and he was eventually diagnosed with thyroid cancer (thus why he has a nasal cannula).

buster wanted him to stop performing since the stress from doing shows every day was starting to take a toll on him, but he insisted that he did since singing and dancing and performing was several of the things he loved so much about his life, and what he was so passionate about.

eventually his body can’t really take it any longer and he’s forced to be bedridden. every time someone comes visits him he tries to smile but just finds it too difficult to do so.

“How are you feeling?”

His forced smile briefly stretched the corner of his lips up, but it dropped no more later than a second.

“I-I’m sorry, it’s just... it’s just hard to try and smile.”

also, ryanny from this point: ryan had, show after show, been coming to the hospital during visiting hours to stay with johnny and help him with whatever he needed. of course, romantic feelings start developing from that point.

okay, i know this is sudden, but one day johnny just knows this is going to be his last day (he can feel it):

“Dad... when I, I mean... if I, y’know.”

His dad stayed silent, pursing his lips without a single word, face remaining absolutely emotionless although his heart was being torn apart inside.

“Yes, Johnny?”

Johnny finally lifted his eyes from the crisp wrinkles of the white bedsheets and gave his dad a small, sad smile.

“... can I be buried next to mum?”

that night ryan come visits johnny like any other day and johnny lets him know that he doesn’t think he has much time left. he says it rather subtly, but ryan knows what he means right away. they don’t really have to talk to each other to know.

when visiting hours are over, before ryan leaves, johnny tells him that they should say goodbye to each other like any other day, just with a simple goodbye because it’ll be less sad.

“... I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?” Johnny said with a tired smile, lying back against the bed.

Ryan shook, trembled. This wasn’t fair. This couldn’t be fair, that they somewhat knew that they wouldn’t be able to talk to each other, or laugh, or just be able to hold hands. Everything was never fair.

“... yeah. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

aaaand the very next day he does die (don’t kill me for this please), and we go from there. have to figure out some minor details!

gonna expand more from this point, might add some changes! but anyway, here’s our johnny. :D
