— Chuck Wendig, Star Wars Aftermath: Life Debt.
Conder...my son..is totally looking at sinjir right now because he said something sassy again and Con is remembering why he fell in love with that idiot
canonically gay star wars characters: lord cytharat, conder kyl, sinjir rath velus, and juhani
You probably want to add Conder Kyl, Sinjir's boyfriend, to your list of characters? Also EK Johnston confirmed Kaeden's bi, if you look in her Kaeden Larte tag
(Continued from previous message)
Also! Descriptions of Sinjir from Empire's End: "a tall man with a hawk’s-beak nose and dark eyes" and "a shadow long and lean, skin the color of sakai-wood, everything sharp as a pair of snip-shears" and there was something about luxurious hair and chiseled cheekbones, although admittedly those two are from his own pov
Conder is "on that perfect line between pretty and manly. He’s got a barrel chest and big arms, a laser-shorn scalp, and that patchy, spiky beard of his. But he’s also got long, theatrical lashes and pouty lips. And skin as smooth and tan as a statue" "bronze skin and a scruffy, sand-colored beard" "scruffy, but in a particularly groomed way—it seems a controlled chaos. His clothing is modern, very modern even by Chandrilan styles—a long dark vest with exposed arms and narrow-leg leather pants"
Great! Thanks for the heads up! I’m behind on my reading list... I’ll get to Empire’s end soon.
Also, I’d like to note that this makes Kaeden the first character confirmed to be bi! There are several other multisexual characters in SWTOR, but they haven’t been explicitly given any terminology regarding if they are bi or pan or something else.
Aftermath: Life Debt Comes Out Tomorrow!
The sequel to Aftermath, which featured Sinjir and Shirene and Esmelle Susser comes out tomorrow July 12th! From what has been released so far, it looks like Sinjir will continue to be a central character, and I’m guessing that Shirene and Esmelle will at least continue to be discussed. Hopefully there will be some new canonically queer characters too! (Maybe even canon bi, trans, pan, or ace characters! Usually that’s doubtful, but I have a small amount of hope because it’s Chuck Wendig.)
You can purchase the book from: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Penguin Random House, and probably at your local bookstores. If you’ll be at Celebration Europe (lucky!) you can find it there with a limited edition cover at booth S908. While you’re there, make sure to thank them for publishing SW books with canonically queer characters.
We will tag all posts containing any type of spoilers as #Life Debt Spoilers through the end of July. We’ll be posting things about the book that are relevant to this blog as soon as we come across them, but we’ll avoid posting/reblogging anything with plot critical spoilers (i.e. character death) until July 18th. At that time we’ll use the tag #Life Debt Big Spoilers. The only exception to this will be if we feel that we need to put out some sort of PSA about a content warning for something that happens in the book (i.e. any kind of ‘dead gays’ trope).
As always, feel free to tag or @ us in your posts about the book, or send in your thoughts to our askbox. Just remember that our spoiler policy may end up having us delay reblogging/posting what you’ve sent us for a few days.

More May the 4th Sales:
Last night we posted a link to KOTOR (which features Juhani) on sale for $2.49 on Steam. Here are some more sales I’ve found on Expanded Universe media that has canonically queer characters:
Aftermath (featuring Sinjir, Esmelle, and Shirene) is on sale at Amazon. $8.49 for the paperback, $16.66 for the hardcover. You can also preorder the sequel.
Lost Stars does not contain any canonically queer characters, but does refer to the existence of trans people in the Star Wars universe in a positive way, and the author recently confirmed that was exactly her intention with that line.
While they aren’t the greatest for gay and lesbian representation, the Lando comic (featuring Aleksin and Pavol) and Lords of the Sith (featuring Moff Mors) are also on sale.
Unfortunately none of the Legends books with canonically queer characters appear to be on sale this year, but here is some info about them if you’re interested.

Hello excuse me where the FRICK is all the Sinjir fanart
QSW Gay and Lesbian Fanworks Week
This blog usually has a fanworks week for every pride/awareness week. Since there is no specific week for gay and lesbian people, we’ve picked the week of April 18th-24th to have our headcanon/fanworks week. The prompt list is as follows:
Monday April 18th: Post about characters who are canonically gay. [Sinjir, Ferus, Goran, Medrit, and Cytharat]
Tuesday April 19th: Post about characters who are canonically lesbians. [Juhani and Moff Mors]
Wednesday April 20th: Post about characters who are canonically in same-gender relationships that you think are gay or lesbian. (These characters are in relationships with people of the same gender, but it is unclear if they are gay/lesbian or bi/pan/etc.) [Roan, Shirene, Esmelle, Aleksin, and Pavol]
Thursday April 21st: Post about characters you headcanon as gay.
Friday April 22nd: Post about characters you headcanon as lesbian.
Saturday April 23rd: Post about ideas you have about gay & lesbian culture and history in the Star Wars galaxy.
Sunday April 24th: Post about what you would like to see in future gay and lesbian representation in Star Wars.
The tag for this event is #QSW LG Week You can also @ us in posts, or use our general tags #queeringstarwars and #qsw
