Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan. I JUST bought a physical copy of Sinners. I went to click on that Annie and Mary deleted scene. At first I was like awww then I got pissed off AGAIN!!!!! ANNIE WAS ABOUT TO MAKE HER BITCH ASS A FRESH CATFISH SANDWICH AND THE BITCH WALKS OFF TO TALK TO STACK!!!! SHE WAS MAKING YOU A FRESH SANDWICH!!!!! YOUR ASS COULD'VE WAITED!!!!! HAD SHE ATE IT SHE WOULD'VE BEEN KNOCKED OUT AND NONE OF THIS SHIT WOULD'VE HAPPENED!

Remmick does NOT care about Annie

I actually need to find out where people are getting the misinfo of "remmick wanted Annie hoodoo abilities" bc it's genuinely making me mad. I hate to say it, remmick did not give a single flying fuck about her. He did not even speak to her directly at all in the film. Remmick only cares about Sammie, and that's it. Point blank. Now MARY and STACK care about Annie. They're the ones going after her. And Remmick let's them bc more people in the vampy family. But he doesn't actually care about her. He doesn't even speak ABOUT her. She takes up as much room in his head as Pearline does. Which is to say, none. But anyway, there does not exist a scene where Remmick shows any thought towards Annie, bc if he did, don't you think he'd be a lot more pissed about her death? And if you say "oh, we'll i read in this article from (college i forgot the name of)" they are lying to you. Watch the movie again. Bc you will not find a scene where Remmick talks to or about Annie. Only Stack and Mary do. And the reason they want her is because she's family! They don't want her bc of hoodoo reasons, they want her bc they love her! And T B H i find it a bit racist that Annie needs to be "useful" to be wanted. Annie could not know jack shit about hoodoo and not only would Stack and Mary still want her, but Remmick would still not give a shit about her!"oh but the hivemind-" fine. Then why doesn't Mary OR Stack ever mention her hoodoo? Why? BC THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT IT! Remmi the rat just let's them do their thing bc it doesn't hinder his plans. In remmicks mind, Sammie WILL be turned into a vampire, EVERYONE will be turned into a vampire, so what's the harm in letting Stack and Mary target Annie? "Oh Sarah, why does this matter so much to you?" BC I'M AUTISTIC, LOVE ANALYSIS, AND HATE MISUNDERSTANDINGS FOR OBVIOUS REASONS!

some people believe that the criticism of remmick is also hating on irish culture or him celebrating it. wrong! the scene of them all dancing around him when he’s performing a rocky road to dublin is unnerving. he stole everyone’s life and energy, to have them dance and parade around him, like he’s something to be revered. they were his puppets in his personal cult. he was taunting the survivors in the juke, wielding his power whilst showcasing how he could succeed. a hive mindset. his means do not justify his ends. he is an extremely complex character, and his defenders or arguments of him “just wanting his family/ culture back” is stripping him of his layers that burnt away with the rising sun. he was evil, sure the lesser of two evils but evil none the less.

I hate when I hyperfixate on something and then get in too deep and hurt my own feelings. Sinners rant. Wunmi and Michael rant.

I was scrolling and saw that video of the cast standing outside for pictures. It's actually two videos like that. When Wunmi is wearing a blue dress and one where she's wearing a floral dress I think. Mind you in both videos she's standing next to Michael. Why is it that they ALWAYS split them up? Why is it a problem to have this full figured dark skin woman standing next to MBJ the star of the movie?

Ryan Coogler literally looks like he goes in for a hug, but tells her something. Her smile drops and he stands between them. Why? She and Hailee were literally laughing together and he comes over to stop her with a "hug."

Why?

The other time she and Michael had a moment where they both looked at each other and smiled then held hands. He lets her hand go and shoved Miles in between them and once again her smile drops. Why? Even during interviews they sat him away from her or had someone sit between them as if it's forbidden.

I understand I'm taking it personal because I always care about what's going on with black women and how they're being treated. So I'm not going to ignore that, however this is being done on purpose. Videos of Michael and Wunmi usually involve such admiration and or laughs so why would you not want to push that? Black women are usually always the biggest supporters so why not cater to us as well when it comes to interviews, seating arrangements, and pairings?

Why do we have to watch one of ours get pushed aside? We'd like to see one of us get some love too. Was Annie not as important to the movie as Mary? Like what's happening? Why?

I learned a lot from you all insights on Sinners and I agree totally. The movie itself was a masterpiece but the way black dark skinned women were treated is very questionable.

(That’s why Im reluctant to watch any film with whites in it. But since it was RC , and I’m fan of Wunmi since “His House” I said why not)

But yes. Remember when I rant about the fact Hailee S /Mary reminded me of a negrophile. Yes now I’m sure about it. Because of her ASKING if she can dance with the REAL Michael B Jordan is pretty bold and off, especially when we know he was supposed to dance with Wunmi/Annie.

I mean what’s the difference for us ? At the end of the day, all we would have seen is 2 Michael b Jordan.

When Annie was talking about recognizing her scene partner Smoke without looking and HS INTERRUPTED her to say she got the FUN ONE. The way Wunmi laughed told me everything I needed to know.

I used to strongly believe before they limited any flirting moment between Wunmi and Michael because she was married BUT, HS is also married and I MEAN HOW PEOPLE OVERPASS THE FACT HER HUSBAND IS PRO-TRUMP and she is a ZIONIST? Anyway…

So it’s not a marriage issue as you all peeped. The issue was : NAH we can’t push THEE MICHAEL B JORDAN, fine shit, hot snack with Wunmi a plus size woman. I mean they’re bad because she is FINE, GODLY BEAUTIFUL.

With HS, they wanted to pander to white people. Guess who carried the whole film ? US. Black women. And I love how unilaterally, brown skin, light skin, dark skin black women of every size thick, fat, skinny, thin… WE ENDORSE ANNIE. They didn’t expect that.

That’s why now WB try to give us Smoke/Annie moments like we ain’t done making edit. They even NOW commenting under WUNMI INSTA POSTS like they suddenly realize she was also casted in the film.

One black drop doesnt work with me. They can’t expect black women to endorse Hailee because her great great great great mommy was black. Well, good for her I mean. It’s now good to be black, back 2011, they all cursed our skin color… chi. I ain’t going to start.

Now I think about it… Wunmi mainly played with the double and not actual MBJ (?) . I mean they surely cast her as a supportive character.
