Either A: The mom dies early on or is out of the picture while a... Less than stellar dad takes over
B: Both parents are alive but the relationship is complicated and strained at best with the mom often being the more toxic one, or so bad the child full on kills them both
C: Orphaned or abandoned child raised by well-meaning but ill equipped foster parents and/or extended family (and if abandoned, then there's a high probability of having a harrowing encounter with the birth parent later in life)
Or D: somehow all of the above!

I often think about how the worlds only scale replica of the Parthenon including a faithful recreation of the giant Athena statue paint and all is in Nashville. Reason to go to Nashville tbh.
Playing multiplayer video games on a server with friends is such a foreign concept to me. Not because I don’t have friends. I usually do. It’s because my irl friends either just don’t play video games or play video games that I don’t like.
Also how do you schedule that? When everyone is an adult it’s the same impossibility as scheduling any other meeting I’d imagine. I have a hard enough time coordinating phone calls.
I have phone calls with my friends fairly often but we’ve always gotta somehow find each other in 15 minutes of freetime. It’s stupid being friends with a bunch of busy adults living in different time zones. I don’t think we have two hours in a row we could spend playing video games at the same time.
I 100% believe that in the KPDH world there is a viral photo of Celine naruto running up the Han River (it was dark, the water demon was getting away, she didn't have much of a choice and also she wanted to look cool) that resurfaces once every few months. Every time, people claim it's AI. The picture is from 2007

Lucky for Celine, it was from 2007 and it was blurry enough that no one can definitively prove that it's her or that it wasn't some sort of weird promo/ad that never surfaced
(It just looks close enough to Celine that the fans latched on and it becomes a fan meme that Kang Celine is a closet Naruto fan)
(Celine has denied it being her every time she's asked but that has not stopped anyone from photoshoping those headbands onto her)

It's Rumi's favorite picture of Celine. There's something comforting having photo evidence that Celine could be silly and dorky even after everything fell apart.
Zoey and Mira gift her a copy of the photo and she puts the photo up next to a photo of Miyeong.
(At some point, probably after the Idol Awards, Rumi sneaks into Celine's office and replaces one of Celine's photos -- the one where she's in a mixing booth, headphones over her ears and notes scattered around her -- with the naruto run photo)

look i know not many care about celine in the ways i care about celine but i love the idea that one of celine's insecurities is her age, particularly as an ex-idol.
in a society obsessed with youth, where youth is beauty, youth is power, youth is the defiance of death; she is struggling to find her place in an incredibly ageist society.
she brushes off advances from those younger than herself, thinks to herself how could they be possibly interested in me? these younger men, women, in the peak of their career, what could they possibly want with someone like her? day old milk, leftovers, seconds, or worse, a woman over 40 who is simply invisible.
celine can't really accept that zoey could genuinely be attracted to her, because she doesn't believe someone her age could still be considered desirable — especially by someone like zoey.
celine can't comprehend that zoey could genuinely want her. In Celine's mind, zoey has everything — she's young, beautiful, talented, and the whole world is open to her and the world loves her. Why would someone like that look at celine and choose her?
