IKR. It would literally be saying: George Lucas, you woobified the fuck out of Anakin Skywalker, but you created a monster, a monster whose children are cursed, children who will inherit your follies and pass it down to their children, children who will need to suffer and die. Your chosen one is a farce.
That is an Oedipal level tragedy. Like, I mean, actually arguing that Ben Solo and Anakin Skywalker aren’t complete monsters because of Snoke and Palpatine makes it more sad too. In that vein of thinking, Ben Solo and Anakin were manipulated into taking on a warped morality. They committed atrocities out soul-deep emotional wounds that were exploited because Machiavellian role models wanted to use their raw strength to obtain absolute power. Dude, just like Oedipus is in some ways a victim, so are Skywalkers. I just can’t have it. NO.
Disney can’t have something like that. The Skywalker Saga becomes The Skywalkers: A Tragedy in Nine movies if Ben dies.
