Taz Graduation Au where Grey takes in Fitzroy to help with his chaos magic instead of festo. They develop a father-son/Mentor bond and Grey secretly gets attached but tries not to let it get to him since he needs to focus on the war.

So when the big twist when Grey is revealed is even more heartbreaking cause Fitzroy feels absolutely betrayed and stabbed in the back. And Grey makes it worse by pretending he was just using Fitzroy and everything they bonded over and the closeness they got didn't matter!

It goes off more of the original idea of them having to prepare for this war. Where they have this battle on school grounds and The Thundermen work together to take down Grey.

Argo and the Firbolg help Fitzroy steady his chaotic magic to send a powerful lightning bolt at grey defeating him once an for all. Fitzroy definitely sobs afterwards for having to murder his father figure.

While it's obvious that Griffin can't control the dice rolls of what Wild Magic/Surge Magic does, I love to think that there is in-canon reason for why the magic tends to help the situation.

I find it pretty facinating that every time Griffin rolls for Wild Surge, the magic always help him out. It's always beneficial.

Fitzroy first trip on a mission fighting a bunch of magmen he doesn't want to fight? Magic teleports him away.

Fitzroy wanting to stop Calhain and get evidence that Calhain was behind it all? Magic lets him read his mind to know how Calhain stole the apple and where he put it.

Fitzroy literally dying by being attacked but tall tough demons? Magic not only absorbs health from others to heal him, but also makes him taller to be more intimidating.

Fitzroy wants to spy on a conversation while invisible? Magic makes sure that he can't make a sound.

Basically what I'm saying is that the magic Fitzroy has is subconsciously acting on Fitzroy's behalf every time he uses it. And the more he gets use to the magic, the more it will act to help.
