Happy 22
Entr'acte
Sirius Black visits Godric's Hollow for the last time.
Sirius gave the street behind him a once over before turning into the quiet, moonlit alley, his footsteps echoing on the cobbles as he passed the rows of ramshackle brick houses. Having long succumbed to seasonal chill, the trees flanking the street were skeletal and bare, there was no autumn charm to be found here.
Glancing over his shoulder every so often, he continued to the far end of the lane, before finally coming to a halt in front of a particularly dilapidated looking house, it’s front door level with the pavement.
With another quick glance over of the alley he crossed the narrow path, knocked gently on the door and waited anxiously, with his hands in his pockets, for Peter’s voice to sound from behind it.
When it didn’t come, Sirius knocked again, harder this time... and then again... and again.
“Come on, Wormtail,” he sighed impatiently under his breath, but when he grabbed the grimy handle, Sirius was astonished to find the door unlocked. His stomach lurched uncomfortably.
With his hand still clasped tightly around the handle, he pushed the door ajar and drew his wand with the other, craning his neck to peer through the doorway.
Happy B-day, Padfoot!
I have something else planned, about his 17th birthday, but I needed to write something in the world where Jily lives
I'm glad we have @sirivember because I now have an excuse to write about my favorite character <3
---------------
‘’63 years old? wow, old man,’’
"Disgusting, I don't even know how you got on the roller coaster with me without throwing up or passing out."
"Don't be so confident, Teddy, because from what I remember, it looked like you wanted to throw up and pass out," Sirius said, trying not to show that he liked the boy's sassy way.
‘’Please, why does everyone always need to keep talking before we sing? It's for us to sing, not to offended-’’
''Red, stop crying and light that candle, this old man here can't stand up so long anymore''
"Poor Hestia," James said, patting her shoulder as everyone burst into laughter. ‘’Come on, no more interruptions… Happy birthday to you…’’
Everyone started singing, everyone smiling and looking much happier even than Sirius, who had gotten a lot more used to birthday parties over time, and even started to enjoy them.
Sixty-three years… If he could be honest, Sirius never thought he would make it this far. He was pretty confident he would make it to twenty, but after that, it was all luck. Living in a war, and having such self-destructive attitudes when he was younger, didn't help him feel hopeful about a future where he would grow old with his childhood friends, recounting stories and laughing at the young ones who seemed to take him so much more seriously than Sirius thought they should do.
"Make a wish, baby!" Hestia yelled, grinning from ear to ear and clapping her hands together excitedly.
"He's going to want to last longer," Remus said, and once again, everyone laughed. '’I hear he's even started stocking up on blue pills, Prongs,'’
"Please, we have children in the room," Sirius scolded him, looking at the three little brats in front of the table, looking at Sirius expectantly. But Sirius didn't miss when Flynn's lip seemed to quiver with the urge to laugh, but showing that he was Ginny's son, the boy remained serious.
"We're not children anymore!" Luna complained, arms crossed over her chest. So cute it should be a crime.
‘’Come on, blow out the candle, Padfoot! Why are you taking so long? Afraid?’’ Harry looked at him defiantly, much like Lily when she was younger.
"What Hestia said on their honeymoon," Teddy said, and this time Sirius chuckled and felt his cheeks flush.
"Just the fear part," Tonks blinked.
"You all are unbearable," Hestia said, but she was laughing.
Closing his eyes and ignoring all the jokes about his ‘’poor’’ sexual performance, Sirius didn't quite know what to ask. Everyone was fine, he had come this far, the war was over… What more could he ask for?
''A trip to some beach, and more moments like that,'' He thought, blowing out the candle and listening as everyone fell silent to clap and whistle, looking far more excited to eat the cake Lily had prepared.
Sirius didn't judge them, the cake looked really good - strawberries and cream, his favourite.
"Padfoot, I got you some new dentures, so…" Ginny said, lifting the gift bag they'd brought, and Sirius didn't even mind the joke.
It was a very good and happy day for him to care about it, and really, Sirius was happy to be getting old… It meant he had won, and his sixteen year old self, and twenty-one too, didn't think that this would be possible.
Sirius was happy.
A/N: apparently I'm not done being angsty for Sirius's birthday, but this one has a happy ending! See the first one, about Sirius's 22nd birthday, here.
Happy birthday to me.
Sirius sat slouched in the high backed chair in front of the fireplace in the drawing room, a glass with two fingers of firewhiskey held loosely in his hand. He stared at the liquid, swirling it lightly before taking another sip.
Thirty-fucking-six. Thirteen-year-old Sirius would be so proud that they’d made it that far. He never expected to live to see twenty, so thirty-six would just seem impossible. Granted, thirteen-year-old Sirius would never have imagined spending a dozen years in Azkaban falsely accused of killing three of his best friends, so what does that little shit know anyway.
The Shoelaces Case; or, the many ways to spend your 37th birthday
The lovely @siriuslychessi has put together a load of prompts for @sirivember centred around Sirius' birthday. I got inspired by some time travel (sort of), some shoelaces (weird), alternative universes (fun!) and the idea that Sirius Black and Marlene McKinnon might end up having to save the world.
Chapter 1 is up!
“You feel any different?” Marlene asked. The sound of her voice drew him from his thoughts and Sirius blinked at her. She gestured to his shoes. “Got a hankering for adventure yet, or whatever it is these laces are supposed to do?”
Sirius frowned. “Oh. Nah, nothing feels different.”
“Do you think they’re defective or something?” Marlene wondered. She peered down at Sirius’ feet. “I hope Harry’s not been ripped off with some joke gift he thought was real, bless him.”
“If he has, we are absolutely lying and telling him they worked just fine. We’ll come up with a story about, I don’t know, dragons or something.”
“Yeah, ok. Big, fuck off dragons in the middle of the square, which I fought with my superior duelling skills, while the birthday boy cowered in the corner.”
Sirius snorted. “Sometimes you say things, and it’s like you’re in this relationship against your will.”
“Ninety-two per cent of the time, I want to be here, honest.”

Chapter Update! FFN and AO3
It's November 3rd! So we need a Sirius story, right? =D A little birthday drabble for my favorite HP character!
And a huge shout out to @siriuslychessi for organizing Sirivember! Gracias amiguita! Eres la mejor!
Atrophic
It's just another day.
It didn't used to be.
There was a time where it was a day he looked forward to, a day surrounded by the people he loved, people who loved him.
James and the lads always tried to make it special, going out of their way to be sure he knew they cared. Sneaking his favorite foods from the kitchens. Planning elaborate adventures. Their desire to be with him had grounded him.
Out of school, Lily baked for him. She was rather good at it but never did it often. Claimed she needed the practice, but Sirius knew she went out of her way for him. He'd kill for one of her cakes now.
But Marlene, well, she always surprised him. Marlene saw him in ways he couldn't ever see himself. And every year they'd been together - and every year they'd been kidding themselves that they weren't together - she always managed to give him something that left him speechless. From the magical compass for his bike that she gave him their last year at Hogwarts to the letter she'd written him the year before she was killed, Marlene always surprised him.
But now, it's just another day.

Whatsapp Chat: James Potter, Lily Evans

James Potter: hey, you ok?
Lily Evans: i love you.
Next door to the MacDonald’s, in the Potter household, Algernon was rudely awakened when James leaped off his bed like the (expensive) memory foam mattress had burned him and stepped on Al’s tail.
“Sorry! Sorry!” James hopped towards the window facing the MacDonalds’ house. He could see Lily’s bright red hair standing out among his dark-haired cousins’ in the living room.
She was staring at her phone, chewing her bottom lip. She was so adorable. And she loved him.
And she loved him.
Holy mother of cows, she loved him.

Cardigan (Wolfstar)
So this idea for an angsty Wolfstar oneshot came to me. Of course it’s inspired by Taylor Swift.
Thanks to @alrightginger and @orderofthepygmypuff for making sure that my words make sense. Also thanks for bullying me into posting this.

Lily giggled from in front of them with James’ lips in her hair and his ring on her left hand.
They were always looking for reasons to celebrate. This announcement, however, was big. It would have been cause for a night out, even if they weren’t searching for ways to avoid what was happening around them.
It was almost normal, Remus decided.
Even if they weren’t in the middle of a war, even if they weren’t members of a secret group bent on destroying the growing threat, even if they were whining about jobs and rent like normal teenagers, they would be celebrating this.
It felt nice.
Spontaneously (or maybe not, since Remus hadn’t really been following the conversation), Sirius ran a few steps ahead of Remus. Peter laughed from beside him. When he got to the couple in front of them, Lily caught his arm. He lifted it to spin her like a reflex.
Lily’s giggle bubbled into a full laugh.
