i dont trust like that bc saresh legit started that way, being good and hopeful (hell you find her helping in taris) but i really like daerunn. I also find it amusing that the first sith to be #progressive and propose hiring slaves appears to have been enslaved himself. They really can't comprehend what they did.

i mean saresh has some... questionable history even on taris (in the bonus series she revokes permission for a contractor to travel offworld until they fulfill the contract they were hired for, which... seems a bit like overkill, but okay) but yeah basically. daerunn (unlike saresh, garza, etc) is a dude though so maybe he won’t get the glass cliff treatment.

(i mean, saresh’s actions there aren’t exactly the tinpot dictator she was flanderised into; she was always a nuanced (in the actual meaning of that word) character, but still one who had standards about what she did and who she did them for)

....you’re absolutely right about spoiler, though. but bioware have the self awareness of an orange so i doubt they even realise what they’ve written.

which one hm i think i’ve mentioned this before but i’ve never really had One True Revan or even like. discrete, alternate revans? like, revan in my head is just this. amalgam of all my different playthroughs (even the ds ones). revan kissed carth, revan kissed juhani, revan didn’t kiss anyone, revan was terrible at pazaak, revan cleaned house at every card game she touched, revan only won the taris swoop race through luck and reloading, revan set swoop records that wouldn’t be broken for three hundred years, revan blew up the star forge, revan claimed the star forge for herself, revan had a change of heart at the last moment. the one point they all agree on though is that revan herself, in what passes for my hc, really did die that day when malak turned on her; bastila stopped her body from dying, but the brain damage she suffered was severe enough to cause fairly permanent amnesia. the person who was used by the jedi council for their hazy memories of revan’s hunt for the star forge was basically a completely new person in revan’s body - revan’s legacy and fall were things belonging to someone else, and some of my k1-player-characters stepped into her shoes gladly and some of them would rather ragequit the galaxy in disgust but

i guess the other thing is, to get meta for a moment, star war is a mythic franchise and i’ve always liked to play with mythmaking, and revan, in the tor era, is one of the Great Myths. so from like. a swtor-trash perspective, i like the idea better of an idea of revan than a single actual person who can be tracked down and grounded (even if it’s only a three hundred year timespan). revan was a conquerer, revan was a liberator, revan was a hero and a villain and all things to all people. both on a watsonian and a doylist level, which is think is one of the reasons that revan as a character is so enduring (and endearing), and why the imposwtor was such a fuckup on bwa’s part - because taking a mythic figure and grounding them like that, doesn’t just give the finger to everyone who played non-white, non-male, and/or non-straight (never mind non-human) revans, but it. fundamentally misunderstands the star war as a 100% true historical document (never mind that objective history is like, not nearly as much a Thing as white academia would have you believe) when it’s myths and, wait for it, legends

anyway this is absolutely not what i intended to write but here we are so: my revan is an amalgam of all possible revans, excepting the imposwtor but that’s mostly on principle

Who is their rival? 

man. i don’t know that sha would have a rival in the sense of an archenemy or nemesis (she’s not nearly dramatic enough, for one thing). but, like. for all her attachment to the Jedi orthodoxy, she’d probably butt heads with the more small-c conservative members of the Jedi Council. people like jaric kaeden (rip) or cedral ‘let’s shoot the dread seeds into a star’ gend, who both grew up and were knighted in a time when the sith empire was not a real threat, and who simultaneously can’t get past the idea that the Only Possible Option is lightsaber diplomacy.

for the most part though, sha tries not to get sucked into antagonistic relationships. that shit is neither healthy nor Jedi Approved(tm).

Do they have any deep dark secrets?

i don’t know about ‘dark’, unless you count the time she was on taris and saved a bunch of holocrons over a republic scientist. (what? she thought she’d have time to get the scientist, too! and then didn’t.) or when she fucked up trying to save her former mentor in the bowels of Corellia and got him crushed by half a ton of rock (whoops). for the most part, though, boring as this is, sha tries not to have Secrets(tm) - not least because she knows full well that having them is inviting blackmail/Falling/etc. it’s why she was open with the Council about her relationship with Felix - she’s seen what can happen when Jedi try to hide or repress such things in the name of appearing Good Jedi, and it’s never pretty.

You know what? Fair. Vrook was just an old man who was tired of dealing with Revan’s bullshit which... Is understandable
