Good: Cooking (less a hobby, more a necessity, but I might as well make stuff I like) Leatherworking (mmmm, leather and beeswax and warm oils) Neutral: Sewing (most of the time) Aerials (workout sweat, and lots of it) (I prefer hard equipment over soft and part of it is that metal doesn't get as gross) Art, writing, reading Video games (most of the time) Tabletop roleplaying (dependent on group! most players are fine) Bad: Art (stinky materials. Stinky paper? why does so much nice paper smell SO BAD. black paper stocks I am looking straight at you. Also anything to do with oil pastels, most charcoals, and some watercolors.) Bookbinding, leatherworking (glues) Sewing (overheated machine; stinky materials; late-night burning-midnight-oil funk) Cosplay making (fabric paint, assorted dyes, fabric glues) Cosplay wearing (con funk, bleh) Silverwork (various acids; burning metal stench) Lapidary (some stones REEK when cut, please wear PPE) Leather dyeing (uniformly atrocious, please wear PPE) Hiking (several days out in the wilderness exerting oneself with no bath) Hunting (gunpowder, sweat, assorted biological odors, hiking) Bone Collection (if I never smell something worse than that it'll be fine, definitely wear PPE)

Tell me the story of how you met your cats.

I met my cat's grandmother when I moved into my current house. She was a gorgeous short-haired cat with dark brown points and big blue eyes. We promptly nicknamed her "Sweetie," which would turn out to be a mistake. She was the wildest, most human-hostile cat I've ever met. If she saw me, she'd spit and run, and I took care never to corner her.

We did not manage to trap her before she had kittens. Most of them didn't make it. She never allowed us to handle her, either.

The one kitten who made it was a dilute tortoiseshell who we eventually named Saba for her habit of hissing at everyone. We tried to catch her for TNR before she had kittens, too.

Unsuccessfully, as it turned out.

Mr. D (RIP, buddy) and Muffin are Saba's kittens. Muffin was the last of her second and final litter, whose poor vision and inept hunting meant that Saba kept her close until we managed to lure her inside.

Mr. D, a big grey tabby with an even bigger heart, passed away a few years ago. Muffin, red-pointed cream in her grandmother's image, is a spoiled housecat who loves cheek scratches and going out for walks on a leash. Saba is a cagey feral still, although now a spayed one.

Thomathan Catthew was, when I met him, a feral black-and-white tomcat with the biggest jowls I've ever seen. Slowly, we got him to come closer and accept food; he actually managed to get Saba to tolerate his presence.

We brought him indoors on a cold night after he'd gotten beat up by some other animal. A rival tom, probably? A few vet visits later, he turned out to be an incredibly sweet boy. Unfortunately, Muffin *hates* him.

Tommycat now lives with my very dear friend, and all of us are happier for it.

Coffee or tea? Tea, please. I've got a "warm winter spices" black tea I particularly like right now, which is different from masala chai mostly in preparation rather than ingredients, and I like it a lot.
