So... my family is moving from the US to the UK this spring! It comes at the right time for an adventure and we’re excited. I plan to keep the Etsy shop open and hope to stay on track with #sixrowsaday, but I’ll be sporadic with social media until the dust settles. Maybe I’ll pick up some new #fiberfriends (or shall I say #fibrefriends?) while I’m over there! Certainly the yarn will be good... #moving #tolondon #festooneriegoesabroad

Day 44, Hat 6: Huuuuge improvement, right? First pic is my redo, second is my previous attempt (with the pattern for reference). Day 42, Hat 6: This hat is a lesson in fair isle execution. I skipped posting yesterday because I thought I might frog my work. Today I kept going to the end of the motif... and I’m going to frog it anyway. The top is my progress, the bottom is the pattern I’m using, from Mary Jane Mucklestone’s book, 200 Fair Isle Motifs. My version is just wrong. You can’t see the quatrefoils. Rather than making the yellow pop, the slate dulls it down. Swapping them would make the pattern stand out better but slate would then be too prominent among the cheery colors. So I’m scrapping it for another color, and I know it’ll be better. Day 35, Hat 5: I’ve gone MIA for a few days, what with the holidays and all, and it’s been wonderful, not gonna lie. It’s rare to be home together as a family for a whole week with few commitments!
