With a rather shocked expression at the male’s statement, she stared at him wide-eyed before her eyebrows furrowed slightly in concern. Jieun wasn’t sure if she was in the right position to ask him what the matter was but she suddenly started to worry about the other. Placing a calming hand onto his shoulder she decided to offer him a warm smile, her head tilting a little to the side. “Why not? Did something happen?”
When Soohyun had entered the room, he hadn't even been aware of the female's presence, or anyone else's for that matter, but by the time he realized he was, in fact, not alone as he had assumed in the beginning, the words had already left his mouth. For a moment, he contemplated laughing it off, pretending it had been a joke or something of the sort; he was good at this game of make believe after all. However, something in him wanted to tell her. Maybe it was because of the reassuring hand on his shoulder or the smile on her lips, but after swallowing once, he decided to be honest with her. "You haven't checked the internet today, have you? I somehow managed to get caught up in a scandal again. I'm not even interested in men, yet people seem to want to believe I am. I know this can be resolved, and it will probably blow over in a couple of days, but there will always be a few people who believe in those articles and stop supporting the group for that reason. I can't keep being responsible for us losing fans." As soon as he was done speaking, he started regretting his decision of sharing his story. There was a reason why he had never been one to open up about his troubles to others, and he was convinced she had more important matters to attend to than a leader who obviously couldn't do his job right.
