Mia + Dimitri, Percy + Reinald, Bastard + Dorte

to be honest i think Mia would be very quickly charmed by Dimitri's genuine sweetness. at first she would probably be quite intimidated, but that wouldn't last long (in either an eh-u or canon setting) before she'd start to relax around him. She'd be very shy and unsure about the difference in status and have to overcome that, and during the timeskip i think she'd be very hurt to see Dimitri doing so poorly, and being so angry. but i think it could work. she's understanding, and pretty patient, and tough when she needs to be.
kdjfhgfkjgh if Percy had gone to the Academy with Reinald instead of Godfrey?? could he perhaps have mocked and pranked Reinald until the man loosened up? could their shared appreciation of the finer things been enough to build a decent foundation for friendship? Would Percy have eagerly learned about poisons and become just a little Evil, while Reinald opened his eyes a bit and became just a little bit Good? I suspect that it wouldn't work out though. Reinald would have too strong of expectations for Percy, and Percy would feel bossed-around and controlled.
sdkgjhfgh okay this can go two ways. if Bastard is still a cat, then i can see him being a stable cat and the only other living thing he respects is Dorte. they are buddies, no one can understand it (except Marianne. she has his respect too i suppose, but she knows to keep her fingers safely out of reach as well). If Bastard is a horse, though, then they must be kept Very Far Apart because Bastard Will teach Dorte terrible manners. Marianne knows this and is like a mother trying to protect her child from learning bad words.
