Prompt 12 - Skewered
Wolfstar April 12, word count 210
Previous part First part
Prongs was the goofiest animal Sirius had ever met. He tripped over while standing still. He constantly forgot about his antlers, and he’d nearly skewered Regulus when he’d bowed his head to get closer to him. Apparently, Regulus was his new favourite.
They walked with him through the forest, heading to a clearing James was certain he remembered how to find. Sirius wasn’t so sure, and Remus agreed.
“James, we have definitely passed through here before.”
“No, no, we definitely haven’t,” James replied, a cheerful smile still on his face.
“Yes, we have. Look, there’s that bit of Regulus’s shoelace that got caught,” he pointed down to the roots of the nearest tree and the piece of shoelace trapped there.
“Ah, okay then, erm, it must be this way,” James proclaimed and set off confidently in another direction. Even Prongs didn’t follow him.
“Do you know where he’s trying to take us?” Regulus asked as a joke, as he stroked Prongs’ side. The stag lifted his head and began walking in the opposite direction James had gone.
“Don’t know about you, but I trust Bambi more than James at this point,” Remus snickered, and after running after James to bring him back, they all followed Prongs further into the forest.
