CBSE Introduces Skill Education for Classes VI–VIII
NCERT’s new Kaushal Bodh textbooks is CBSE Skill Education for Classes VI–VIII’s first incorporation of hands-on learning. Starting from the 2025–26 academic year, schools will introduce practical modules covering learning real-world skills, creativity, problem-solving, environmental awareness, basic crafting, and early vocational skills. The framework calls for schools to implement activity-centered approaches, project work, and real-world experiential activities to foster the development of the child beyond traditional learning and assessments. This framework has specific expectations from schools, teachers, parents, and students, and covers infrastructure, timetabling, training, assessments, and parental support. The aim of this change is the modernizing of middle-school education to be relevant to today’s learning and the world.
