It's the wound

The slight dull ache

that isn't noticed, most days.

However, sometimes

something will happen.

And when you thought you were fine,

and maybe even happy

the words are said of someone

and you feel their sadness so deeply

that the stitches rip open again

and you're bleeding

from your heart

but you don't know what to say

what to do

To make the pain, your's and their's

to dissipate

So you wait

for the wound to close

and ache

and wait.
