I’m all about sharing notes with others especially when I find things that work and that’s what I’m finna do right about now. I wanna thank Zendaya, firstly, who did the lord’s work by spilling her skincare routine which is something I do as well. Y’all it’s crazy how simple this is and how fast it works. Let’s break it down with instructions and costs bc i know we’re all living on a budget (and if ur not, u can hmu)
DISCLAIMER: we all got different genetic makeup that makes us react differently to products. Always test things with a small amount to see how your skin handles it. What works for me might not work for you. But life is all about trial and errors, right?
so you’re going to grab ur witch hazel ($9-10 in walmart/target) which is good for taking care of ur acne since it removes all that excess build up
for budget buddies who need alternatives for thangs cheaper, i gotchu: you can get this on amazon for $6 - it’s about same thing.
Instructions: make sure your face is clean and bare. take a cotton ball/pad, dip ur witch hazel, and then wipe ur entire face with it. boom. now ur going to wait until it dries before u go to the next product. ur going take ur little babe right here which is $7 online and i think u can get it @ urban outfitters too
THIS IS GLOW UP IN A BOTTLE, U HEAR ME??? THIS IS THE LIKE THE KRABBY PATTY SECRET FORMULA. ur going to spray, spray spray this on ur face (not crazily of course. just a few spritz). then ur going to let that dry as well. step 1 and 2 down already. now onto step 3 - grab ur pure tea tree oil. now fam, u can get this anywhere, there is multiple bottles of this but make sure it’s 100% pure, australian oil. these can cost u anywhere from $5-11.
now listen to me, PURE TEA TREE OIL IS VERY STRONG. LIKE DRY UR SKIN STRONG. this is one of those products u have to test before u toss it on ur skin. test a small area on ur face and see if ur sensitive to it. if u are, dilute it with water or any oil u have - i would use vitamin e oil bc that’s ur next and last product for this short but powerful skincare routine. if ur not sensitive to it, grab urself a q-tip or cotton ball, dip some on it, and put it on ur acne/acne scars. if ur one to have them on the side of ur face, put it there boo, let’s get rid of them.
LAST but not least, ur final step is yanking out the vitamin e oil. now this u can find anywhere as well from like $3-12 but here is this key; u want to find an oil that says “d-alpha tocopherol” and not “dl-alpha tocopherol” or “tocopherol acetate” because that’s bootleg oil and we don’t want that soaking in our pores.
have u ever felt a baby’s ass? or just touched a baby before? DATS what ur skin is gonna be feeling like when u work with this. do this as ur nightly moisturizer and put this all over ur face, nice and gentle circles. when u wake up, ur going to be so smoof and radiant like you’ll notice a difference when u use it and it even helps with scars as well. and if u someone that like having smoof lips, put this on ur lips as well fam.
and that’s all i got folks! do this every day (morning and night) and ur skin will be rejoicing to the heavens. hopefully this helps somebody out there!
You use an oil to massage your face for about five minutes. I use jojoba oil with a VERY small amount of tea tree oil. Acne whom? You can add other essential oils in tiny amounts. Try different oils but coconut and olive will 98% probably make you break out.
Then steam your face over hot water in the sink for ~2 minutes
Gently wipe everything away with cotton balls.
Repeat 2 & 3
Use a water based cleanser now and pat dry. Continue on with toning, serums, and moisturizer.
Seriously with this method I evicted acne and it was a problem for >12 years ok.
On the topic of skincare, I need to recommend this goopy-ass shit
I’ve often found that thinner moisturizers don’t work as well for my skin, so this is amazing because it’s like the consistency of Greek yogurt. I normally only wear it at night, and then use another moisturizer with SPF in the daytime. It’s non-comedogenic so it won’t clog your pores, and it makes your skin feel soft af.
no one asked for it but i know i've struggled with skin problems for the longest time so i feel good sharing !! this skin care routine is very similar to @ shaolinbynature, a disclaimer, but that just means the products are amazing and work for a bunch of people soz!! okay so first i use the Mario Badescu acne facial cleanser! if you don't have acne and just texture issues, maybe try the cleanser spray, i've heard it's amazing! but for me personally, the cleanser works wonders and is about $15 for the full size. next, i use witch hazel (inexpensive anywhere u search really, not a specific type there's tons of different packaging for it but it's all the same product!) to tone and always use cotton pads to tone with! don't use your fingers!!! lastly, and i do this twice a day, i moisturizer with raw shea butter. get the unrefined, raw kind!! refined is more processed and just not what u need on ur face. u can look a bunch of places, like the witch hazel, there's a lot of different packaging, but it's all the same! as long as it is UNREFINED(maybe also called raw)! and i moisturize after toning and normally right before bed hope i helped girlies!! <333
Yo I’m late for skincaregate but micellar water is important and helps your skin a lot. Moisturize too that’s always good. The ocean salt stuff from lush works good but don’t use it too much it makes your face sort of oily if you’re prone for that. Fresh Farmacy from lush is really nice but it makes your skin sort of dry. Idk this is just all the shit I use lmao.
Use a pot of boiling water and a glass jar to melt the coconut oil. Add in the liquid oils, mix, and pour into a spray bottle. I love the metred spray for a light liquid like this. This is great for daytime use all over or spot application wherever you need some moisture.
So if you want to prevent moisture loss of your face and hair during sleep what you want to do is get a satin or (thrifted or ahimsa) silk pillowcase.
Cotton is hella absorbent and will draw moisture away from your skin and hair. The slippery fabric will also prevent hair breakage whereas cotton has a lot of grip that will break your hair.
