Scene idea
Binghe goes back in time to disciple days and does whatever he feels the need to do. Doesn’t really matter for what I have in mind.
During the Skinner scene he looks up at the beam about to fall on it. He’d been staring at it since he woke up since he knew it would fall. What caught his eye was how well built it looked. The wood was sturdy, the area around it too made it seem as if it would stand another hundred years. But in his memory of the time he was certain it was dilapidated and molded. Shen Qingqiu himself said he sent the Skinner at him because he knew the beam would fall with a simple nudge of the pole he was tied to. While he’s thinking this he hears Shen Qingqiu tell the Skinner to go to him, and all of a sudden he can’t understand where he got the idea that this beam was sturdy from. Clearly the wood is rotten with large chunks missing, just as it was in his memory. Just like it had always been. And like before the beam falls at the right moment and the Skinner is dead.
When he looks back at his own memories he only ever sees the beam as it was before it fell. He can’t picture a sturdy support in the dream realm because his mind is telling him it never looked that way. But, he does remember contemplating what could possibly have made such an excellent support fall. He remembers thinking the wood was sturdy and would hold for a hundred years. When he asks Shen Qingqiu about why he sent the Skinner at him he gives the same response about the beam.
Maybe Binghe thinks Shen Qingqiu is a god, maybe not. Either way the system rewrites the world to accommodate him. Maybe he discovers it one day.
