do you ever think about how much it meant that skipper looked after griffin? shorter (ash’s BEST FRIEND) didn’t even know he had a brother, let alone had he met him. but skip, skip knew. not only did he know; he was griff’s primary caretaker when ash was away. ash trusted this child to look after the man that raised him; the only family member that ever truly cared about him. griff was literally helpless and paralyzed and unable to defend himself had anything gone wrong, but ash was comfortable leaving him alone under skipper’s supervision. ash trusted skip alone in his personal space; in his bedroom. everything that made ash vulnerable, skipper had seen. and ash had let him. ash, the boy who would rather die than be controlled by someone, let skip make decisions FOR him. if any of his gang members had tried to organize an interview without ash’s permission, he would’ve hit them with a warning shot. with skipper, though, ash immediately resigned himself to the fact that he would be doing the interview. he didn’t even argue or complain. he trusted skipper’s judgement and intentions. their bond was so much more than just a gang boss and his kid assistant. skip was like ash’s little brother and best friend. skip was to ash what ash could’ve been if someone had gotten to him before dino.
