This is a Cleo Skribent Secundus model fountain pen from 2005. The Secundus was the all black classic model of the new generation of Skribent pens, introduced in 2003. The cap and barrel are black synthetic resin with gold plated trim and has a matching color section. There are two gold plated cap bands, one 1/16 and one 5/16 inch wide stamped "CLEO SKRIBENT" twice around. The barrel has one 1/32 inch gold plated band and platinum plated end cap. The cap is topped with a faceted clear plastic square jewel. It has a two-tone platinum plated solid 18 karat gold nib hallmarked with "CLEO" over "SKRIBENT" over "18K" and single letter nib grade marking. The 5 3/4 inches long pen is a cartridge / converter filler using international type cartridges. Retail price in 2005 was approximately $300 for the fountain pen, $265 for the matching capped rollerball pen, $200 for the twist action ballpoint pen and $200.00 for the twist action 0.7mm pencil.

Where a hundred horses and men, at the miller, shall fall into piles of bones by the gate. * The miller, he's old and knows how to win, and he'll never get weary of grinding - when he's resting, he'll listen and grin, as the stones tell their stories while dancing. * He says, as rocks be dancing on bones, that these men won't be running no more; they'll chink and they'll crink, like chimes of stones, in honour of their funeral will roar. * And he says that his mill are alot like life: an everlasting wrenching of fate. As the screeching of cogwheels, of timber and strife, will grind the finest flour of one’s passed away. * Lay down to sleep, you who's lost and unsettled, you won't have to worry, road's no longer narrow; of all that have been and all lives that mettled, the deathly dust is only left of the marrow. * Though some will come, like a trembling dance, lastly arriving but more lighthearted than all. If they be glistering pearly, in the evening's glance, wait only a while till they'll tire and fall. * Perhaps the fallen will rise again in the spring. The ghost’s been whispering up in the trees. Them, who deceased and yesterday was milled, next year might be swinging in the seed. * But them stones will go on, till everything's gone, and the dustbowls are billowing high as the gate. The cap and barrel are Bordeaux Red synthetic resin with gold plated trim and has a matching color section. There are two gold plated cap bands, one 1/16 and one 5/16 inch wide stamped "CLEO SKRIBENT" twice around. The barrel has one 1/32 inch gold plated band and platinum plated end cap. The cap is topped with a faceted clear plastic square jewel. Send 👀 for a drabble of the first time my muse saw yours for @skribent, status: no longer accepting!

                            There’s a small part of him that worries he might not be good at this — helping people. Afterall, what does he really know about the wolf? Asfar as he’s concerned he’s just a pup. A newbie who’s flailing through a lifeinvolving the supernatural that he’s never known. But… maybe this isn’t aboutthe wolf at all. Maybe this is just about not feeling alone. And Ryan knows allabout that. Waking up in a forest with no idea what happened or what’s goingon. Discovering the pull of a full moon all by himself, the added strength, theheightened hearing, it had been intensely overloading. He wished he’d found thesmall town of Hollow Grove during his early years. The sanctuary it offeredwould have taken a load of anxiety off his back.

                             So maybe that’s what this isabout. It’s not about how much he knows about being a werewolf. It’s not aboutthe supernatural at all. It’s about how much he knows about comfort. Aboutsupport. About being a rock. Human ( because he’s that, too). And maybe it’s a little bitabout being selfish — about pouring his attention into someone else ( keep yourself busy, don’t think about how you got like this,about Spencer ).

                             Letting out a breath androlling his shoulders, Ryan shifts from one foot to the other outside the hoteldoor. It’s an odd place to be living but, then again, he has no room to talk ( the motel he’d stayed in his first week wasn’t nearly as nice asthe loft he has now ). Whatever works. And after coming to Hollow Grove he’s surehousing is the last thing on most people’s minds.

                             Rapping his knuckles againstthe wood of the door, he waited, a small trey of assorted coffee’s and teas inhis hand, a bag of pastries and breakfast sandwiches in the other. Hopefullyhe’d guessed correctly in what she liked — or at least comeclose. There’s a moment after his knock where Ryan’s thrown into completesilence. And then his ears pick up the soft pad of footsteps on the other sideof the door. The young wolf’s not sure what he’s expecting, or who, rather, butit’s certainly not her. The woman who opens the dooris clad in sweatpants that are a size to big and a sweatshirt to match. Dirtyblonde hair ruffled and falling past her shoulders. Blue eyes as clear as themorning sky. They’re caught there for half a beat, taking each other in, beforehe speaks — “Uh, hi,” his voice is ruff against his throat, like he’sforgotten how to talk, and he offers an awkward and lopsided smile to try andrecover. “I’m – Sophia sent me. I’m Ryan.”

                             He’s usually not like this. Notthis… flustered. Or this nervous. But the gravity of the situations juststruck him full in the chest. The magnitude of it. Ryan is here to help her ( Allison Gray, a voice reminds him ) and for the first time ina long time he’s afraid — afraid that he might fail in that job. That hemight fail her. And he doesn’t want that.He’d failed someone before, someone who meant much more to him than a stranger,and it nearly destroyed him. Ryan wouldn’t suffer through that heartache again.Not if he can help it.

                             So it’s not really pity. Ormaybe it is, but it’s something else, too. Something that sits deep inside thepit of his stomach. He knows her eyes, he’s seen that weariness before. Thatexhaustion. That sadness. The fear. “These, uh – I brought you some coffee. Or tea,” he clears histhroat, shifting his gaze to the assorted trey in his hand. “And some food. Iwasn’t… I didn’t know what you liked so I got a few things.” A sigh shiftspast his lips, heart thundering against his ribs, so loud he’s sure she canhear it. “I’m here to help. I – I want to help,” he lifts hiseyes to her, soft, understanding. “Whatever you need. I just – I want tohelp you.”
