Daleth would probably sit in a rocking chair and read news like the Grandpa he is (lamed would too but she'd rather be knitting something)
OH YEAH ABSOLUTELY!!!!!! they'd sit there beside the fireplace reading books n all and might make a few remarks about what's happening in the news aaagggagag might even doze off aawwaaa
Okay so I named this sideblog "plutos-THOUGHTS-and-sketches" so it's time to take up my promise on that
This is gonna be my ancestors, elders, and a little bit of skid, spirits (I'll elaborate on them in another post) and some miscellaneous hcs that should line up together and i hope that it doesn't interfere with any lore. Buckle up this is gonna be a long one
So! Let's start off with ancestors. What are they?
I like to think that they used to be skids but then willingly gave away their light. They're just tired of existing for eternity, you know? So they dropped their eternality (they could still be killed but then would be reborn- like through eden! But there weren't any widespread methods of doing that before and they still got reborn :( ) and became a mortal species we now know as ancestors. They. Well. Reproduced. And forgot their roots. They forgot why they always feel like they're missing a major part of them (their light), and they didn't understand why light healed them and made them feel euphoric. (Note that only some light can properly heal them. Like. They're basically humans. Fire WILL burn. But, say, a manta's light will feel caressing.)
So what's up with Elders, then?
Basically! They're normal ancestors. Except, with a twist: they didn't give away ALL of their light. Only some of it, really. But it's a permanent move anyways. They continue to have limited lifespans, but they're much, much longer than normal ancestors. And some of their skid physiology (is that the right term?) kicks in, letting them grow and grow for as long as they aren't dead. (They can't be reborn, though.) (And does that mean that skids before used to be giant? Yes. Does that also mean that skids who don't eden run get to be taller? Also yes.) so they just get to be the cool guys, who remain to be above the rest, containing the knowledge and power and potential.
And now I'll elaborate a bit on some of the specifics about all of this. Healing is basically relighting another skid, and there is a whole, high paying, high status job that's basically having the right type of light that can heal others instead of burning them. (Without it, all krill attacks would have been lethal. Even then, it's expensive as hell.)
Ancestors have the lifespan of a normal human and elders are basically five times that. Magic (spells) exist and they can only be cast by the most talented, the most full of light ancestors. This means that basically all elders can do spells if they put their mind to it.
Anyways about the thing where i said they always feel like they're missing a part of themselves. So they die, wake up (I'll elaborate on that more in another post that will include my spirit hcs) and go like "wow i feel great" because eden basically inserted some light into them
They all have normal names, but the Elders that we know don't share theirs anymore with normal ancestors because of an.... Event. (This is bordering on my au stuff so we'll skip over that. Let your imagination go wild) Which means that if a skid (i hc that all skids know elder names (search sky cotl elder names if you don't know them, they have names)) suddenly calls one by their name ancestors would be confused and Elders would be flashbanged and wary
Masks are a traditional thing! Some people replace them with face markings instead and some don't wear anything at all (but those are few), which means that some cultures that are disconnected from the norm don't wear masks (like the nine colored deer spirits. Take a look. Feudal lord is the only one with an actual mask and even then you can't convince me that it isn't just giant eyebrows)
Eden exploded (shattering) from darkness corruption overload. How that happened is up to you but I hc that Resh is a skid and was tired of seeing everyone dying so he researched and came up with that solution to make everyone immortal
Anyways thank you for coming to my ted talk there Will be a part two
So I'm here. Just thinking about biology in a world full of magic. When brain asked, "How do mantas nest? They have to. Are they just grass rumbas? Do they just kinda float onto something flat and rest?"
But then my brain went... No. They're like quetzalcoatlus...
[ 🗡️ ]ㅤ.ㅤwhat is a scar that they have but never talk about ?
Skylar has a claw marked scar across the back of her right shoulder blade. She got it some eight or nine months ago in her last confrontation with her then boyfriend (also a wolf), in her final attempt to escape their wolf pack. She escaped with her life and a scar to tell the tale. And though she doesn't attempt to cover it up, she gets testy if asked about it.
[ 🕊️ ]ㅤ.ㅤwhen did they feel the safest ? [skylar 🥺]
Sky felt safest when she initially joined her werewolf pack. They made her feel special and wanted for the first time in her life — but it was short lived and turned out to be nothing but a façade. So truthfully, she has never felt safe. And though she doesn't tell her oldest sister everything, she does view Ellie as her safe person. She doesn't feel like she has to dial herself back with the eldest Finch as much, which is why she loves living with her!
Okay here me out- Sky is absolutely ruthless against monsters and enemies since there's one he never defeated. And the chain is definitely put off by this.
Ghirahim.
The fate of the Sword Spirit is left as an unknown, and he just kind of doesn't show back up (not until HW at least). While he and Sky had several fights/duels, I imagine that through all of them, Sky barely got the upper hand and had to fight tooth and nail with every encounter.
And then there's Demise, who was almost too easy to beat, but now he's dead. And Ghirahim is... where?
Any time he hears a certain noise he goes into panic mode. If something or someone touches him from behind, whoever it is better hope he recognizes them before he lands a hit. He had not been able to beat Ghirahim, and if any tv show where unless the character is seen dying on screen means that they're probably still alive has anything to say about it- Ghirahim could be anywhere. And he carries that fear around.
Therefore, anything else Sky fights, he fights with the best of his abilities and makes sure it's dead before he can move on, even if that means resorting to extraordinary or violent measures.
Sky hc i share with my friends since yall desire the thoughts
Samekh was one person before as one of the players in Journey since i think Journey takes place on the other side of eden cuz same mountain. After they completed frost zone/end area and were ascending or being reborn, a guardian spotted the star and hit it splitting it in two and sending em to the kingdom of sky. (Cant actually happen in game but my hc)
Its cut from live but i use the beta valley cutscene as “proof” cuz it kinda reminds me of how Journey players fly with the scarves. Capes let you glide n stuff but in Journey you just like float up and then go down.
The Valley is snowy because the frost zone/end area of Journey was kinda the last place samekh saw before being split and they wanted to feel a little at home since everyone in Journey was used to the cycle like skykids are with eden.
I think Lamed is aware of the kingdom on the other side of eden because in the lower part of vault where the purple light is, the symbols on the walls are the symbols generated for players calls
Some of them at least, i havent played Journey in a bit and only remember mine and some other players symbols
A Fair has arrived in town for a week! Who does your muse spend their day at it?
Time
Goes to the fair alone and enjoys it by himself. Of course, he sees many people he knows there and greets them all with a smile! He plays all of the games and has lots of fun!
Twilight
Takes Ilia and Shad to to the fair! Of course, fairs aren’t really Shad’s scene so he watches as Ilia and Link have fun. Link lets Ilia win sometimes but Link can destroy anyone when he gets down to it. Purlo still hates him.
Sky
During a small fair in Skyloft, Link joins a group with Zelda, Pipit, Fledge and Karane to enjoy the festivities. He mostly stands around as they talk and only plays a game when someone challenges him. He’s pretty good but not amazing. It’s more about being with his friends.
Wild
Although alone, Wild interacts and talks to almost everyone he meets with a happy attitude. He’s not playing the games as much as he’s watching and eating, but a couple archery games snag his eye and he absolutely rips it.
