The math on the vessel murder has been distressing to say the least, but I had another thought. Do we have math on how many bugs were even in Hallownest? Because now I'm pretty sure the number of PK's murdered children exceeds the population of the kingdom he was trying to save. I don't think he cared about saving others from the Radiance, it was always about him erasing her influence. No cost to great.

We do not have math on how many bugs there are (and it’s likely any numbers would be thrown off by the fact that we only see a small amount of any given area despite how huge the game is, since it’s a 2D plane and a 3D world) but also you are likely correct in that the Pale King’s murdered children probably far exceeded the amount of bugs that ever existed in Hallownest.

It’s not entirely out of the question that he cared about saving his subjects, but he also cared just as much, if not more, about ensuring Radiance couldn’t escape from him and reclaim the followers that used to be ‘hers’. So yeah either way: the fucking worst. No cost too great.

Hello! I'm sorry if this comes off as rude, but do you mind if I ask where you got your icon? I recently made a hollow knight blog but i'm having trouble choosing an icon. I was really proud of the first two icons I made for myself, but then I found other hollow knight blogs that somehow had the exact same icon and banner. It's happened twice despite no other blogs interacting with me. Your current icon looks just like one that I made, is that just a coincidence? I apologize if I'm wrong.

It is most definitely a coincidence, at least with me. My icon comes from a screenshot that I took while I was playing the game because just sitting on the bench there with Quirrel is one of my favorite parts of the game. I know a lot of other people like it, too, so that’s probably why you’re finding people with the same icon.

Ghost is facing the opposite direction in that one cuz they fell asleep so I had to get them off of the bench to wake them up and take the screenshot.

Check out the moth statues at resting ground and those two ghost moth.

we get a bit of a look on Thistlewind and Markoth, and the statues to a degree

Alright, looks like I’ll swing by the Resting Grounds and sniff around a bit for them tomorrow! (I’ve been squinting at Markoth and I don’t thiiiink you see his body, just a bit of his foof by his legs but I’m staring at screenshots aha)

I tried designing a luna moth character, and used Markoth and Thistlewind to guess what the moths look like with their wings out. It's really rough but would you like to see?

I'm thinking of getting Hyper Light Drifter, but I'm still unsure about jumping to a new game when I'm still really invested in Hollow Knight. Is Hyper Light Drifter a long game? How does the difficulty compare? I think the ending has been spoiled for me already, is the game still gonna make me cry?

It’s definitely a more combat-heavy game than Hollow Knight and I would say probably requires more intensive reflexes in some areas. It’s pretty hard and you have to dodge a lot, especially with big bosses. Large enemy clusters are more of a danger than in Hollow Knight and you don’t have a lot of health to spare. It’s also a top-down game compared to HK’s left and right movement, so you have a few extra dimensions to worry about.

Plotwise I’d honestly still say it would make you cry even if you’ve been spoiled for the ending. Even with no words it does a very good job of conveying the protagonist’s constant struggle.
