Toji is an idiot. He knows that. He's a fucking dumbass for ruining things with you. He's such an idiot that it took his son noticing his state to drag him out of it.
But, he's made his choice now. He doesn't just want you, he needs you. He can't keep running from everything good, he needs to finally let himself be freed from everything holding him back.
If only he had realized that before he broke up with you. He knows there's no reason for you to even take him back. But, he thinks returning your sentiments from Valentine's Day by giving you a gift on White Day could be a start. And, yeah, he'd listened when you were rattling on about all the holidays and how some go ignored now. So, with a determination he hasn't felt in awhile, he heads out to a flower shop. He walks into the shop, the same one he'd come to a few times before while buying you flowers. The woman working recognizes him, and smiles warmly.
“You again! So, you're giving a white day gift, I take it?” She questions.
He shrugs, gruff voice grumbling just a bit.
“Yes and no. Kind of more of a ‘I fucked up, take me back’ type of thing.” He explains, looking away from her at all the flowers in the shop.
“Oh, I see..” She purses her lips together for a moment. “Don't tell me you cheated.”
“Fuck no.” He says, gruffly, crossing his arms. “Started saying I love you then I broke it off. Runnin from shit.” He explains curtly. She understands, scanning the different arrangements she has prepared.
“Yep, seen that one before.” She says, picking up a bouquet of roses before shaking her head.
“Today's a good day to try, right?” She quips, turning to look at a few more bouquets scattered around the shop.
Toji just watched quietly, arms crossed, emerald eyes following her movements.
“You'll want something nice, but not too overly flashy. Or else she'll think you're just trying to buy her love.” She says, turning to him with a bouquet in hand. It's beautifully colored, just big enough to say ‘im really fucking sorry’ but not so big it's suffocating.
“You'd better have a speech planned. Something tells me you wouldn't have been here so often buying her flowers if she wasn't a good woman.”
“Yeah. She is.” He says, looking at the bouquet she's holding. It's pretty, a beautiful color on the flowers but not too much. “Those look good. I think she'd like them.”
She smiles and nods. “Me, too. Let's ring you up.”
They head to the register and Toji pays for the flowers.
“Good luck.” She says, as he takes the flowers from her hand.
“If she says no, can I get a refund?” Toji asks, only half joking. He's actually nervous, something he's not used to. Of all the jobs he's worked, all the tricky situations he's been in, life on the line type shit, this is worse. That, he was good at. This? Feelings? Not so much.
The florist laughs and shakes her head. “No refunds. Better make sure your speech is killer.”
He turns to head to his car, heart beating out of his chest. He places the flowers down in the passenger seat and takes a breath. He pulls out his phone, praying you haven't blocked his number, and he sends you a text.
You're in your dorm, having a few classes off due to a plumbing issue on that side of campus. At least the dorms are still fully functional, so you can relax. You have no work today, and you're all caught up on classwork. Graduation is just around the corner. You've just settled into your bed after a shower, getting comfortable, when you get a notification on your phone.
You lied when you acted like you didn't know who it was. But he doesn't need to know how much you've reread your texts, waiting for a new one to come in. You'd changed his name and removed his picture in a fit of anger, but you couldn't block. And you couldn't dare delete it. You're not sure how talking to him will go, but he's not acting like himself over text. He almost seems desperate.
You decide to get dressed in something cute but still comfortable. A sundress with a nice soft fabric, flowy enough that you'll be comfortable but tight enough that he'll see just what he's missing. You style your hair, apply your lotions and perfumes. You choose the scent you'd worn the first day you met him.
You're gonna make this hurt. Even if you can't help the part of you that misses him, the part that screams to just ask him to take you back.
-Asshole. He deserves it.-
After ensuring everything is in order, you do an extra look at your outfit, makeup, and hair. You send an outfit picture to your best friend, before heading off to the bus. You make it to the bus stop just as it's arriving, popping in your headphones as you ride. Soon, you're at the park. It's pretty open, and you're sure you'd see Toji if he was here already. Unless he's in his car, but you don't see it in the parking lot.
You sit on a bench, scrolling mindlessly on your phone with your headphones in, until a figure casts a shadow over you. You pull your headphones out and look up to see Toji.
He's holding flowers, and a present. You furrow your brows at him, trying to remain angry even as you catch the soft look in his eyes.
It's something you've never seen in those green eyes of his. It looks like he's broken. There's no sparkle, no hunger as he looks at you. His brows are slightly furrowed as if he's worried.
-Where the hell is Toji because this guy isn't him-
“What are those?” You question, looking at the flowers in his hand, then the bag.
“They're for you.” He says, offering them out to you. “You can throw em away if you want. Its..White Day, right?” You take them with a sigh, turning them in your hands.
“Yeah, it is. Still. Why?” You ask, setting them down. You're stiff, trying to avoid showing him any inkling that you'd care why he's here anyway.
“You gave me gifts on Valentine's Day.”
“So you came here to reciprocate? Then, you've done it..thanks.” You roll your eyes.
-you can't just bring me gifts and not apologize, asshole-
And normally, he would've told you to stop the attitude. Before, he would've been all confidence and charm. But as you stand to walk away, he reaches out to grab your wrist before dropping it immediately.
“No. I came here to talk. To say…I'm fucking sorry.” He starts, eyes flicking to the ground for a moment. His words are slow, quiet, like he's mulled over them 1,000 times but still isn't confident in them.
He takes a step closer to you. You don't back away.
“You broke up with me, Toji.” Your voice is sharp, slicing straight through the air. “Broke my heart out of nowhere. Why would I believe that you're sorry?”
He nods. “I know. You never deserved that.”
“No, I didn't. And buying me flowers and presents isn't going to just take that back.”
“I know.. I know I can't take it back. I'm not trying to pretend it didn't happen. I just want another shot at this.” His voice is low, rough, almost desperate. The look in his eyes is like a small, scared animal. “I'll make up for everything”
“I don't know if I want to give you another shot.” You say, and he looks like he's about to cry. You almost think it's pathetic the way he seems like he's barely holding it together.
Something's changed with him. You're not sure what, but he looks like he's let go of something. Like something holding him back from you has finally snapped. You've never seen such a needy look in his eyes.
“I'll do anything. I know I was a dick. I don't deserve your forgiveness. I thought I didn't deserve you at all, that I should run before I fell even more in love. But, fuck. I love you. I need you. I couldn't handle being without you. So fucking pathetic, Megumi had to drag my ass outta the house…” He sighs, pausing. Should he tell you what gave him this breakthrough? No. Not now.
“You'll do anything?” You probe, not fully believing you.
“*Anything.” He says, locking eyes with you for a moment. “I'll watch whatever movie, every night. Tell ya every morning that I love you and I'm sorry. I'll fuckin drop to my knees and beg, just please, Doll, give me another chance.”
You chuckle a little, shaking your head. Toji doesn't act this desperate, and it freaks you out a little.
“Beg? Toji, this isn't a joke.” You try to keep it serious, to stay angry after he'd hurt you and made you cry.
“You think I'm jokin?”
He takes another step closer, and before you can even say another word he's dropped to his knees.
You look down at him, a little shocked, as he looks up at you through his lashes.
-This isn't happening.-
“Please. One more chance. Just one more.” He's begging now, unashamed, and you can see the corner of his eye glisten ever so slightly with a tear. You didn't even know Toji could cry, it's not like you'd ever seen him show something like that yet. “I miss you like hell. Your pretty eyes, your voice, your fucking kisses.”
You look down at him, hand twitching with the desire to take his inky locks in between your fingers. But you're trying to remain strong.
“Toji…”
“No, listen..I miss all the shit you'd tell me about, I miss eatin’ with you, I miss feeling you roll over and hug me like a damn koala. I miss goin on dates n carryin you when your heels hurt. I miss drivin with you n hearin about your day. Kick me, hit me, punish me for the rest of my life if it makes you happy…but I need you.”
-I know I can't resist him, even if I wanted to..-
Finally, you can't stop yourself anymore. You bring a hand to his hair, and his eyes widen with a wild, desperate look.
“What made you decide to be open like this?” You ask, feeling your resolve crumbling.
He'd hurt you, that much was true, but you knew this relationship wasn't going to be perfect. You knew it was a possibility when you decided to make things more than just a fun time. But, the way he's acting right now isn't like the Toji you'd expected to meet right now. He's being fully open about his feelings for you. No jokes, no diminishing it, just raw unfiltered honesty. He's on his knees begging for a chance.
“Megumi dragged me to the cemetery. Told me I had to stop using his mom as an excuse. That I'm scared because I couldn't protect her.” He explains, hands coming to the back of your thighs to pull you closer. His head rests on the front of your thighs as he speaks. “When I tried before, with Tsumiki's mother, it was a shit show, y’know?...Felt like it was just a slap to her face, you know..I let her die.. And then I- I move on with…” He stops himself. He's worked through it, he knows that's wrong, but when his mind gets carried away he over thinks it. He takes a shaky breath, continuing.
“Meg said I had to move on and stop being scared. And he's right. All of that was just an excuse because I felt weak when I realized I loved you as much as I loved her. It scared me shitless. And I was actin like a fuckin pussy.” He finishes, voice cracking as he speaks. You begin to play with his hair, taking a breath. You missed him, more than anything, and even though there's a risk of him hurting you again, you want to try.
“You've never really told me what happened to her…” You say, softly. “I would've talked to you about it. I could've understood you more if you'd let me. You were traumatized. I know you're not innocent. But something like that? I don't care who you are, it's a lot to handle. But you don't have to tear yourself down forever. You can be scared and do it anyway, Ji” You use the nickname he'd told you not to when you broke up. You know it holds some meaning to him, and the way his eyes soften when you say it tells you he was scared he'd severed that closeness.
“Just give me one more chance.” He asks, tilting his chin to look up at your face. “I'm scared, pretty girl, but let me do it anyway. Please..”
“One chance. Don't make me regret it.” You agree. “Get up off the floor before you break your back, old man.” You say, with a tug to his hair. As if he doesn't do more in the gym in a day than you do in a week.
He smirks at you, that light returning to his eyes.
“Already teasing me?”
“Mmm, consider it part of your punishment.” You say, looking up at him now that he's standing.
He gets closer, broad chest pressing against you, and he leans down towards your face.
“Alright, baby. Fair enough.” He says with a smile. “Can I kiss you now?”
You put a finger on your chin as if thinking.
“Hmm..I don't know..maybe you should try the begging thing?” You tease, and his restraint snaps.
“Oh, fuck off” He growls playfully, taking your face into his hands and pressing his lips against yours.
Suddenly, everything you'd been through disappears for a moment. He kisses you soft, slow, as if he's savoring every single movement of his tongue in your mouth. He kisses you with passion, hands moving to your hair slowly. Breath quickening, your hands come up to his chest as he devours your mouth. When he pulls away from your mouth, pupils blown, scar slowly curving up on the edge of his lips, you find him beautiful. But, he's the one who speaks first.
“Perfect. You're perfect.” He mumbles, and you smile, leaning into his chest and hugging him. He hugs you back, holding your head into his chest.
“The flowers are pretty. What did you get me?” You ask, curious about the contents of the bag. He smiles, releasing you so you can turn back to the bench. You pick up the bag, opening it to find a few things. There's some of your favorite snacks, perfume and lotion. And then, some cute pink pajama pants. You pull them out, smiling.
“Toji, they're so cute! Oh my god. They're like princess pajamas!” You laugh, eyes crinkling. You notice there's two, one for each of you. “You're really gonna wear these with me? You always say it's stupid.”
“Nothin’s stupid if it makes you smile, Pretty. I should've realized that sooner.” He steps forward and sinks down behind you, chin on your shoulder.
“This is my favorite perfume.”
“Tch. Yeah, I remembered, baby.” He says, turning his head to kiss your neck softly. His arms are tight around your body, and you lean into his warmth.
He hums, kissing your neck again.
“I missed you. I'll treat you like a princess. Never hurt you again.” He whispers, breath hot on your skin.
“I missed you, too.” You reply, resting a hand on the side of his face.
“Are you doing anything right now?” He asks, and you shake your head.
“No, I'm off work. Classes tomorrow, though.”
“Let me take you to get something to eat, Ma.”
“I think I'd just rather head back to your place. Maybe order some food, just hang out together? If that's okay with you.”
“Whatever you want. Let's go.” He takes your hand, and the bag from the bench. You grab your flowers, the floral scent wafting up to your face as you walk.
His hand is warm as he leads you back to his car.
He keeps looking back to your face, trying and failing to seem nonchalant about it.
“Tell me about your classes. And work.” He says, once you reach the car. He opens the passenger door for you and you slip into the seat. A chapstick you'd left in the cupholder is still there. Plus a cute little charm you'd forced him to let you dangle from the mirror after one night smoking in the car together. You smile and buckle your seatbelt, waiting for him to walk around to his seat before you start talking.
He listens, hand coming to rest on your thigh just like it always does. You can't help but stare at his black hair falling into his face, even more when he has to sweep it out of his eyes to see better. You can smell his cologne, and he looks like he put some effort into his look today.
You lean closer into him as you talk. He doesn't interrupt, he just lets you rattle on about the time he'd missed.
When he parks and helps you out of the car, he guides you inside with his large hand on your lower back. His fingers are warm and sure and comfortable against you, and you didn't realize just how much you'd missed this touch.
When you're inside, you slip off your shoes and head straight to his kitchen like you own the place. You don't see Megumi, but you're sure he's off with his friends or something. He's out more often than not. You take your flowers, finding your empty vase on his countertop just where you'd left it.
While you're filling the vase with water, he takes the pajama pants from the bag and heads to the bedroom, returning shirtless, only wearing the pants. Your eyes trail down his chest, towards his v-line, to his bulge showing under the tight pants. They're always a little too tight in that area, and on his ass, which you love to tease him about.
-Damn, that's another reason to forgive this man.-
“Hm, I see they fit nicely.” You tease, shamelessly eyeing his package like a damn sleaze.
“Oh, shut it, brat.” He says, coming up behind you to swat your ass. You laugh and finish arranging the flowers in the vase before walking over to grab your own pajama pants.
“Shoot, I don't have a shirt.” You complain, and Toji just chuckles.
“No, you forgot one. It's in the closet.”
You walk down the hall, pink pants in hand, towards his bedroom. You change, folding your dress and leaving it on the dresser. You find your shirt in the closet and slip it on before returning to the living room, to Toji.
He's sprawled on the couch, remote in hand, arms open. He gestures for you to come lie on him, smiling at you with that devilish ass grin.
“C'mere, ma. Lemme hold you.”
You come and lie on top of him, feeling his muscular arms wrap around you.
“Here, order whatever.” He hands you his phone, and you scroll looking for something to eat. When you've found something that sounds good, you input your order then ask what he wants.
“Anything with meat.” He says, turning his attention to the TV as he scrolls for something to watch.
-Why do I even ask like I don't know the answer-
You order the food and flop back down onto his chest. He scrolls to find something to watch and eventually you point out a movie you like. No complaints from Toji, much to your surprise. Seems like he plans on giving you the princess treatment right now, probably since he'd fucked up so royally. Once the movie's on, however, it's little more than background noise. After spending time apart, you realise how pent up you were, and now that Toji is here with all his muscles on display, you can't resist. You start by kissing his chest. Soft and gentle pecks across his body, towards his collarbone.
“Mm..” Toji hums, hands coming to gently stroke your body. They slide up under your shirt, running along your back softly, slowly. You don't stop, slowly getting rougher and starting to bite and suck on his skin.
“Stop teasin me and come sit on my face, Doll.” He growls, as his hands glide down past your lower back, gripping each of your hips tighter.
“So forward.” You scold, and he chuckles.
“C’mon. Lemme apologize to her, too.” He pouts, pulling your body up anyway. You slip your pants down, not even attempting to resist him
Turning down riding his mouth isn't something you're really capable of since he's always had a way of pulling you in. And it helps that his mouth is god-level skilled.
“Our food is coming in like twenty minutes!” You say, giggling as he hoists you up his body towards his mouth. Your words are a protest, but nothing about you is resisting right now. It's almost like you just want the chase, the force in his movements.
“Better keep your pretty little mouth quiet then, baby.” He says, finally pulling you down onto his mouth, causing you to gasp. You can tell he missed you by the way he slowly savors each movement.
“Fuck, baby.” You gasp, hips rolling into him. “You really missed me, Ji?” You tease, breath coming out in short pants.
“Mm-hm” He moans into your folds, lapping up every bit of your arousal.
Your hands fall into his hair, pulling him in closer, and his hands on your hips tighten. His tongue drags up from your weeping hole, all the way to your clit where he sucks and swirls his tongue in the way he knows you love. It's not long before you cry out, clamping a hand over your mouth so the delivery person doesn't get an unwilling preview whenever they arrive- even if the TV is so loud you probably won't be heard anyway. You know he does it on purpose.
Your body is tingling with desire, coiling tighter than a spring. Your hands in his hair tighten and he groans into you, peeking up with his emerald eyes. He doesn't stop, he's like a man starved, devouring you wholly. Each time you meet his gaze, it sends a new wave of pleasure through your body. He looks up at you like you're a goddess to be worshipped, using his mouth as his form of penance for his sins.
You're moaning into your hand, the muffled sounds almost escaping. As his tongue continues swirling across your sensitive clit, you're losing control and he knows it. Your arousal is coating his face and his chin, and he's lapping up every bit like he'd thought about this every moment he was away from you.
He slides a hand between you to slowly push two fingers into your entrance.
He pulls away from your sopping cunt just enough to speak, lips moving against your skin still as he curls his fingers into your gspot. They're so thick, and you've been pent up for a few weeks now, it's almost overwhelming.
“Gonna cum for me, baby? C'mon, be my dirty girl. Don't hold back.” He teases, before pressing a kiss right there on your clit.
-Fuck, he's really got no shame.-
He revels in the way he's making you fall apart. He sucks your clit into his mouth, and the suction makes your brain melt. That, combined with the curling of his fingers inside you makes you completely turn to putty.
“Fuck, please don't stop,” You whine, allowing your hand to fall from your mouth to his hair as you let the words slip. “I'm gonna cum!”
He continues swirling his tongue around the bundle of nerves, pulling you into him you can't pull away from the sensation.
You have to bring a hand back to your mouth to cover the sounds escaping, though Toji can still hear the almost pornographic moans from behind your hand. The waves of pleasure crashing over you finally overcome you and you can't hold back anymore, closing your eyes as you feel yourself finally releasing. You're moaning into your hand, strings of ‘fuck, yes, Toji, please,’ and he's holding onto every single word as if it's a winning lottery ticket.
As you cum, you tighten around his fingers and grind harder against his face. You don't know if you're even giving him ample breathing time, but you're losing yourself in the feeling. He could move you if he needed, but he grips your hips tighter, like you've done exactly what he'd hoped.
He keeps going, even as you're falling apart. He pulls his fingers out after you've cum and brings his mouth to your soaked hole to taste you again, like licking icing off of a cupcake.
You're panting, sagged forward, out of breath from how hard you've just cum, practically twitching from sensitivity. You hadn't had him buried in your thighs in a few weeks and, fuck, it was so good. He licks up from your slick entrance, to your clit, tongue flat and firm. You whimper, jolting slightly.
“Fuck, sensitive!”
He chuckles, pulling away.
“I wanted another one out of you. C'mon, don't you miss me sluttin 'you out?” He teases, just as a knock rings through the house. The food, right on time to interrupt.
-Buzzkill. I didn't even get fucked yet-
He growls angrily and glares at the sound.
He slides you off of him, grabbing a t-shirt thrown over a chair and wiping his chin on the way to the door.
You watch as he walks to the door, back muscles rippling, pink pants way too tight. You can't take your eyes off of him.
He's returning with the food quickly, as you put your pants back on. You sit together, watching the TV and talking as you eat your meals. It's comfortable, the way you can just fall back into step with him.
You reach onto his plate, stealing a piece, and he pretends to swat you away.
“Back off, woman. This is mine.”
“I just wanted a piece, Ji!” You say with a giggle, and he rolls his eyes, but offers his plate to you anyway.
“Go ahead, brat. Don't need ya getting all pouty on me.”
“Pouty? Excuse you, old man, I don't pout. I'm a very sophisticated woman.”
“A very sophisticated woman until you're cock drunk and babbling. The innocent act doesn't work on me anymore, remember Doll?” He teases, and you gasp dramatically as if he's offended you.
“You're so rude!” You scold, slapping his arm.
“Never said I was a gentleman.” He laughs, leaning in to kiss the side of your head.
The meal continues like this, and after you've both eaten you curl up together on the couch.
Before long, of course, Toji's running his hands along your body, down towards your hips and your ass. You shift against him a bit, getting a little worked up again now that his hands are on you once more.
“Sit on my face again.” It's not even a question anymore.
“You haven't even let me touch you, yet,” You start to protest, but he's already pulling your body up into position.
“I don't know, baby. I think I need to apologize to this pretty pussy a little more.” He coos, licking across your folds slowly. “I don't think she thinks I deserve to fuck her yet, do you, princess?” He teases, looking up at you with a look you've never seen. It's almost submissive, and something in you can't resist playing along.
“You want to earn the right to fuck me, baby?” You tease, cheeks heating up a bit as you speak. Something about him still makes you a little flustered whenever you're trying to dirty talk like this.
He looks up at you with those green eyes sparkling, nodding.
“Mm-hm”
You let a hand tangle in his hair as you sit fully onto his face now, earning an appreciative groan from his throat.
“Then make me squirt on your face tonight.” You challenge, and he jumps right into action.
He accomplishes his mission, and then some, the damn overachiever.
He makes you squirt on his face twice before he finally lets you pry him off of you, after almost crying from overstimulation.
You're out of breath after, nuzzling into his pillows, while he forces a water bottle into your hand.
Some time during the first round he'd carried you to the bedroom. You hadn't forgotten how strong he was, but you sure did miss it.
He didn't let you suck his cock, he didn't even take it out of his pants, even though you could see the imprint obscenely well in those pants.
He pulls you up into his chest, lighting the joint hanging from his lips as his other hand gently strokes your hair.
“Im pretty sure you earned fucking me. Twice over.” You say, plucking the joint from his lips and placing it between your own. He smirks down at you, scarred lip curved while his eyes narrow at you.
“Damn thief.” He says, but he makes no move to take it back from you. He can already tell he's going to spoil you rotten for the rest of his damn life. “Tomorrow. You got work after class?” He asks, as you pass the joint back, smoke dancing between you two.
“Not tomorrow. Wednesday, though. Why, you wanna pick me up?” He passes the joint back to you and you take a long inhale before exhaling the smoke.
“Of course I wanna pick you up. Not letting you get on that damn bus ever again.” He says, tightening an arm around you. You laugh and slip the joint back into his mouth.
“You know, Toji, I like how protective you are. Makes me feel like I've got scary boyfriend privileges.” You say, kissing his chest softly.
“Yeah? Well, get used to it. Dunno what the hell scary boyfriend privileges are, but I gotta keep you safe.” He says, kissing your head as you pluck the joint from his fingers.
“I always will. Because I love you.”
He says it so raw, so honest, it catches you off guard. But you feel warmth spreading through your body and you can't hold back your smile as you reply,
“I love you, too, Toji.”
And for the first time in a very long time, Toji is fully relaxed and truly happy. There's no reservation, no voice in the back of his head telling him he doesn't deserve you, no thoughts creeping up to extinguish the flame you light.

It's the end of the day, you're lounging on the couch waiting for your boyfriends to return. You're dressed in cute pajamas, planning to spend the night snuggled up watching Halloween movies.
You hear the key in the door followed by Katsuki's gruff voice, grumbling something about damn kids on all the roads.
You see Eijiro step inside the house, followed by Katsuki.
“Hey!” You greet, jumping up to go give them kisses as they drop their bags.
“I missed you,” Eijiro says, wrapping an arm around your waist as you plant a kiss on his lips sweetly.
Katsuki pushes him out of the way, though not with much force, and kisses you next.
“Long ass day.” He says, before kissing you one more time. “That helps. But I need a shower.”
“Wear the matching pajamas on the bed.” You say, smiling brightly.
“Huh?? Matching pajamas again? Like, damn last year's Christmas.” He complains, but doesn't refuse. He can't when you look so adorably excited.
He steps back from you, taking his boots off by the door before heading towards the hall to shower.
Eijiro rests his head on your shoulder from behind, wrapping his arms around you.
“Do I get matching pajamas?” He asks, voice sickly sweet like always. He's one of the purest souls, and he never fails to show it.
“Of course, yours are on the bed, too.” You reply.
“Yesss!!” He says, sounding like he's just won the lottery. He runs off to change, and within two minutes flat, he's back at your side.
“I showered at the agency, so we're just waiting on Kats.” He sniffs the air, noticing the smell of food. “What's that smell?”
“Dinner! Almost done.” You reply, kissing his cheek gently.
“You're the greatest girlfriend ever, I swear.” He says, scooping you up in his strong arms and forcing you to lie on the couch with him. His arms are warm around you, and you can tell this cuddle isn't just for you. He handles the frustrations a lot better than Katsuki does, but he still deals with tremendous stress daily. You cuddle there until Katsuki comes out, his hair wet and wearing Halloween pajamas.
“These are dumb.” He says, though he's not scowling like usual. If you look in his eyes, you see a sort of happiness that he's trying to hide. Leave it to Bakugo to be unable to admit that he loves wearing matching pajamas with his boyfriend and his girlfriend.
“Don't lie, you like matching us.” You scold, scrunching your face up at him playfully.
“Yeah, yeah. Getting all comfy without me?” He asks, raising a brow, gesturing to you and Eijiro's intertwined bodies.
“Just waiting for you to join us. Get in here.” Eijiro says, and thank god you'd all gotten a huge couch or you'd be completely crushed. They're warm and comfortable like home.
“I smell something good.” Katsuki comments, stomach growling to punctuate his words.
“Yeah, that's dinner. Give it like 5 more minutes.” You reply, kissing his hair softly. He doesn't pull away, of course, because he's finally gotten used to the love you shower him with.
“Fine by me. Could lie here all day.” He says, and Eijiro chuckles. It's always moments like these that Katsuki is at his softest.
“Me, too.” Eijiro agrees.
In a few minutes, you peel yourself away from the boys to go prepare plates. You all eat together, watching the movie, enjoying each other's company. After dinner, you simply cuddle up. The soft rise and fall of their chests as they breathe relaxes you.
After a long day of hero work, all your boyfriends wanted was a relaxing evening. Eijiro has fallen asleep, snoring softly. Katsuki is close behind, with his eyes fluttering closed. Before he dozes off, though, you hear his voice softly break through the silence.
“Thanks for the lunch, babe. I know I'm a punk sometimes.” He says. (Translation: 'I'm sorry for acting like I didn't want it, ’ but he's too prideful to say it directly.)
“Of course. I love you even when you're a punk, Kats.” He just kisses you and finally drifts off to sleep.

March 28
It's Friday evening, after Mika's been settled into bed. She'd insisted on calling Katsuki to tell him goodnight, and tried to use him as an excuse to stay up later. Unfortunately for her, Katsuki has always been one to go to bed earlier than most, so now you're relaxing with Mina in your bedroom. You're trying to find a good outfit for the dinner with Katsuki, but you're finding yourself unhappy with everything.
“You're trying awfully hard for someone whos just hanging out with a frieennddd” She teases, wiggling her eyebrows at you.
“Don't start!” You warn, but she just smiles and leans back onto your pillows. “Seriously! It's not a date.”
“Uh huh. Keep telling yourself that.” She says.
You just roll your eyes and turn around, showing her the dress you'd put on.
“How does this look?” You ask, spinning around to give her the full visual.
“You look like an actual goddess.” She praises. “Are you trying to make him fall back in love with you? Because I'm ready to throw it all away for you right now.”
“Is it too much? The restaurants so nice I just don't want to be under dressed.”
“It's perfect, girl. That will look amazing, and I'm sure he's going to agree. As your friend, of course.”
Katsuki arrives to pick you up 10 minutes early, of course, and you're not fully ready yet. Mina lets him in, eyeing him up and down from his suit, to the yellow roses he's holding, to his nervous look.
“You better spend big bucks on her. Get her extra dessert. Whatever she wants.” She says, squinting her eyes at him.
He scoffs, but his lips are turned into a small smile.
“Yeah, yeah, Pinky. She'd get a new car if she asked. You don't gotta warn me.”
“DADDY KAT!!” Mika yells, immediately dragging him to her room to play with her toys, not even allowing time for him to set down the flowers.
He doesn't protest, just follows her hand in hand, albeit with a scoff.
“Don't gotta drag me, I'm coming!” He says, though there's no bite in his words.
After a few minutes, you step out and hear Katsuki and Mika's voices overlapping in her room. You walk to the door, pausing for a moment to take in the scene.
Katsuki's in a suit, looking just as handsome as ever, and he's crouched down holding Creepy Baby for Mika in one arm. In the other arm is a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses, with a few sunflowers. Mika is making the doll’s bed up, and singing a lullaby.
“Hey, Katsuki.” You say, and he turns his head. Mika runs to you, hugging your legs and squealing.
“Mama, you're so pretty!!” She says, arms wrapped around your legs. You pick her up and give her a big hug, squeezing tight while she giggles.
Katsuki places the baby doll in the bed, and stands, straightening his suit.
He mumbles your name, sounding completely in awe.
“You look….beautiful. You're perfect.” He says, stumbling over his words as if he'd never seen you dressed up nice before.
He's hit with every memory of dates with you, when you were still his. He thinks about how he took it for granted and gave it up, and he steps forward to you. He looks down at the flowers in his arm, before holding them out to you. You place Mika on the floor and she returns to her doll, though she eyes you both from her spot.
“Flowers?” You question, but before you can say any more he speaks up.
“I know it's not a date. But, shitty hair said yellow roses represent friendship.” He explains, looking as if he's a schoolboy talking to his first crush. It's endearing, how hard he's trying.
“You're actually taking Kiri’s advice? That's new.” You say, not yet taking the flowers from him.
He must be nervous, because he starts explaining himself again. It's weird to see him this way. A man who used to be so confident in everything, who used to be so self assured, is now worried around you. His voice is softer than before when he replies.
“If it's weird then you don't have to take them…maybe he was wrong. I just thought maybe it'd be-” You cut him off, before he can let himself spiral even more.
“Katsuki, stop. They're beautiful. You're really sweet. I'm just surprised, is all. You used to do everything you could to keep him out of your business.” You say, finally taking the flowers from him and inhaling their scent.
Mina pops her head into the room for a moment, all fluffy hair and smiles, in search of Mika.
“Dinners ready, Mimi! Let's eat!” She says, and Mika jumps up. “I found the vase, by the way.”
“Can I put the pretty flowers in a vase with Aunty Mimi, mama? Pleeasssee?” Mika asks sweetly, tiny hand tugging on your dress.
You smile down at her and nod. “Yeah baby, thank you.” You say, voice soft as you lean down to kiss her cheek.
Mina takes the flowers from your hands, and Mika runs to Katsuki, who crouches to hug her.
“See you later, kiddo. Go eat your dinner.”
“Thank you, Mina. And I'll see you in the morning, Mika. Be good for Aunty Mimi.” You say, before they scamper off together like two peas in a pod.
You turn to Katsuki and smile. “Ready to go?”
“Yeah, come on. Let's head out.” He says, leading you out of the house.
He opens your door for you when you reach the car, and when he climbs in you can't take your eyes off of him. Even though you were insistent that it isn't a date, and you're just friends, it's getting harder to deny the connection.
“You look handsome.” You say, before you can double think it. “Just, like, you look nice all dressed up.”
He notices the way you try to downplay it, to keep it friendly. You notice the way his ears are slightly pink tinted after the compliment.
“Thanks…I took it from Kirishima's closet.” He says, glancing over at you for a second.
“Like that time we had that last school trip?” You recall, laughing. “No, actually, any trip EVER with everyone?”
He'd tried everything to get out of parties that Kirishima wanted to attend, but the redhead thinks of everything, including packing an extra outfit. Katsuki has yet to escape when everyone gets involved.
He scoffs at the memories. “You mean when all you idiots would drag me to a parties of even bigger idiots??”
You laugh harder, as he rolls his eyes at the amount of socialization you, along with the others, had forced upon him.
“This is different, though. He didn't make me.” He says, and you smile at that. He wanted to be here, wanted to look nice and take you out.
You begin rehashing a few other memories as he drives, enjoying each other's company. You talk about friends, family, his parents. Anything you can think of, just to hear each other speak.
Soon, you're arriving at the way-too nice restaurant. It's a fancy place you'd seen before, but never visited, with a skyline view and balconies overlooking it all.
When Katsuki opens the door for you, he extends his hand, helping you from the passenger seat. He leads you to the door, still gently holding your hand in his. He holds the door for you, releasing your hand and allowing you to enter.
Your breath catches in your throat at the beauty of the place, it's dimly lit, expensive looking and romantic. Not a place for a friendly dinner by a long shot, but you knew it wouldn't be.
“Do you take all your friends to places this nice?” You ask in a playful whisper, teasing him.
“No. Just the one I've been in love with since I was a kid.” He whispers, quietly, so quiet you almost miss it.
Then, he walks to the receptionist, leading you with a hand on your back. You don't lean away from the touch, or make any motion to stop him. As much as you try to ignore it, his touch is nice. It's comforting, in a way you can't explain. You'd never been able to explain your connection for Katsuki, you were just drawn to each other like a moth to a flame.
“Good evening to you both.” The hostess greets, with a kind smile.
“I have a reservation for Bakugo.” He says, and she smiles warmly.
“Right this way.” She says, turning to lead you both to your table. You follow first, and Katsuki sticks close behind, fingers still grazing the small of your back.
You're seated, and the night goes on with ease. You've fallen back into a comfortable rhythm, and though you insisted it wasn't a date, you're not doing much anymore to keep it friendly.
When his knee brushes yours under the table, you don't pull away. When your gaze lingers on his lips too long, you don't stop yourself. When his food looks good, you sneak a bite just like you used to. He swats at your hand, shouting “Oi!” little too loud, earning annoyed glares from peaceful diners.
When you've finished your meal, and a dessert shared between you and Katsuki, he pays your bill before leading you to the balcony doors.
You step out, with Katsuki's hand on the small of your back. You look around and walk further out, taking in the soft lighting of the balcony and the beautiful expansive view of the city. It's breathtaking, and before you can think, you're reaching and grabbing the hand that Katsuki's allowing to fall away from your back.
“Remember what we always said we'd do if we ever came here?” Katsuki asks, setting his phone down on a small table, as music softly begins to play. “It'd be the perfect song, right?”
You smile at the memory of your plans. You'd always joked you'd dance with him to "18th Floor Balcony" up there, and he'd always say he'd never dance.
'I close my eyes
And I smile, knowing that everything is alright
To the core, so close that door
Is this happening?'
He pulls your hand to bring you closer, so close you can feel the heat of his body.
“I remember.” You say, breath catching as he pulls you in and places his arms around your waist, resting his hands on your hips.
'My breath is on your hair, I'm unaware
That you opened the blinds and let the city in
God, you held my hand
And we stand
Just taking in everything'
“But you always said I'd have a better chance getting pigs to fly than you dancing up here.” You remind him, quietly, as your arms come up to wrap around his neck.
“Yeah, yeah. I know. Just…shhh” He says, voice soft and gravelly. As he pulls you in even closer, he begins to softly sing along, and you join as well.
'And I knew it from the start
So my arms are open wide
Your head is on my stomach
And we're, we're trying so hard not to fall asleep
Here we are
On this 18th floor balcony
We're both, flying away'
You rest your head on his shoulder as you continue to sway to the music. There's nothing else in your minds, just each other. The music floating around you, the wind brushing by, the warmth of each other's bodies.
You shiver as it grows colder, and Katsuki pulls away just to take off his coat and drape it around your shoulders. You revel in the warmth it provides, but lean back into him anyway to seek more body heat, hugging against him. His hands don't rest on your body again, yet. He just allows you to lean into him and soak up his warmth.
“Maybe this is a date, Kats.” You mumble, so quiet you're worried he didn't hear. But, the way his body goes rigid tells you he heard.
'So we talked about mom's and dad's
About family pasts
Just getting to know where we came from'
“You….you mean it?” He asks, hands hesitating to hold you, as if he just misheard you.
“Yes.” You say, as you pull away to look up at his face. He looks like he could cry, his lip quivering as if you'd just given him the most amazing news he's ever heard.
'Our hearts were on display
For all to see
I can't believe this is happening to me
And I raised my hand as if to show you that I was yours
That I was so yours for the taking
I'm so yours for the taking'
He extends a hand to yours and leads you to the rail, opening his mouth to speak, but no words come out. He chokes up and takes a deep breath, grabbing the railing with his other hand and pulling you closer with the other.
'That's when I felt the wind pick up
I grabbed the rail while choking up
These words to say and then you kissed me'
Just as he turns to you, attempting to speak again, finally finding words, you lean in and press your lips to his. He's shocked for a fraction of a second, before his hands naturally trail across your body. He pulls you in closer, kissing you back and pouring in every single ounce of emotion he'd ever felt for you. You're lost in the kiss. It's as if everything stops for a moment. The world isn't spinning anymore because you're frozen in time.
'I knew it from the start
My arms are open wide
Your head is on my stomach
And we're, we're trying so hard not to fall asleep
Here we are
On this 18th floor balcony
We're both, flying away
And I'll try to sleep
To keep you in my dreams
'Til I can bring you home with me
I'll try to sleep
And when I do I'll keep you in my...dreams'
The music continues, but you're not paying attention anymore. You're lost in his scent, his lips, the softness of his skin. It feels like it's been forever when it's only been a few seconds. His hands cup your face while your hands come up to his hair for a moment.
Finally, you pull away, and he pulls you back into his chest as he mumbles your name, still lost in the moment. You're both breathless.
He speaks up, and his voice is gravelly and quiet, even though he's trying to keep an edge to it. “So, I'm allowed to take you on dates now, huh?”
You chuckle and begin to sway, keeping close to his body.
“Yeah…we can go on dates. But we're taking it slow. You're not my boyfriend...yet.” You say, and he tightens his grip around you.
“But I could be?” He asks, voice full of hope.
“Yeah, Kats…you could be.”
'I knew it from the start
So my arms are open wide
And your head is on my stomach
And we're, we're trying so hard not to fall asleep
So here we are
On this 18th floor balcony, yeah
I knew it from the start
So my arms are open wide
Your head is on my stomach
No, we're not going to sleep, sleep
Here we are
On this 18th floor balcony, we're both
Flying away'
After the song fades away, you both continue swaying for a little while, until your nose turns red because you're cold. Katsuki finally pulls away, insisting on taking you home, even though he wishes he could stay there forever.
He ensures you get home safely, leading you to the door like a gentleman. At the door, he plants a kiss on your cheek, and tells you goodnight. You head in, eager to share the details with your best friend.
“Mina, you were right!” You say, practically dancing into her bedroom. “It was a date.”
“Told you so!! I know you, you can't resist. And that place is crazy beautiful. Tell me everything.” She says, getting comfortable on her bed.
“Oh, you know. Good food, we talked, danced, Ikissedhimonthebalcony, and then he took me home.” You say, with a shrug.
“You KISSED HIM??” She asks, sitting up straight to look directly at you. “Uh-uh. No vague story. Details, now!” She demands.
You recount the evening to her, giggling and smiling as if you're talking about a school crush. It's exciting, and fun, and you can't resist the elation filling your soul. You talk with Mina for awhile, until you're both so tired you're forced to retreat to bed.
Meanwhile, when Katsuki returned back to his house that night, it was with an explosively loud burst through the front door.
“HELL YEAH, RED!” Katsuki's voice booms, startling Kirishima, who was relaxing on the couch. He sits up quickly, excited to see why his friend is so happy.
“It went well?” Kirishima asks, perked up like a golden retriever.
“Just well? Hell no, dumbass. PERFECT. She kissed me.” Katsuki says, pride beaming in his gaze. He can't even hide it.
“So… you're back together?”
“No. Taking it slow. But I ain't losin’ her again, Eijiro. I fucking mean it. I'll take her on as many dates as it takes.” Katsuki says, and Kirishima has to smile with pride.
“I'm happy for you, man. I know it'll all work out.” He says, as Katsuki heads off to change out of his clothes. His usual scowl is replaced with a small smile, since he can't get out of his mind.
The smile remains until he falls asleep that night, still seeing you in his dreams.
