How are you studying for HL Physics? (I'm only in SL and I can't picture myself getting any higher than a two)
At my school we take the SL class and exam in one year, and then we decide if we want to spend another year in the class to take it HL. Last year, I was one point away from a 5 on the exam with a failed IA, so I somehow managed to survive the hell that was the 2016 physics exams.
To prepare, I outlined by hand each topic of Tim Kirk’s Oxford Study Guide, making sure to copy down all definitions, conceptual ideas, and anything I could expect to see on the exam, and then did the previous exam questions that appear at the end of each topic. In class, we did a couple of past exams, which also helped.
This year, I have decided to outline Pearson’s HL book because it is more in depth. I have pdfs of both the Oxford and Pearson books if you want me to send them to you.
Before studying, it might be helpful to go ahead and go through the specimen paper released last year just to get a feel for what you do or don’t know. Then, correct your answers and understand why you missed the ones you did. Just as a confidence booster or another check to see where you are in the material, at the beginning of May, try to take this specimen paper again or take the SL 2016 exam.
Remember: the grade boundaries for physics are incredibly generous. Make sure when you are doing past papers, you look at the released grade boundaries. There’s nothing more discouraging than to think you failed your practice paper 2 with a 14/50 when in reality that’s a 4. Also, use the scaling to your advantage. Don’t spend forever trying to interpret a problem completely foreign to you and run out of time when there are definition questions that you have not done.
Good luck and let me know if you need anything! 😊
Physics insults
the higgs field was generous with you
your work is just a nova; the result of using someone elses materiel
you're like interstellar medium, low density and filling the space in between what's significant.
you have a lot of moles
you might think you're working at that desk but you're not getting any work done
you're just a scalar; no direction
you might have precision in what you think, but you're not accurate
we are not in resonance with each other, you actually dampen my oscillation
you're such an alpha particle: low penetration abilities and slow
you and me can't even be brought together with binding energy, the mass defect would be too big
can you redshift please
hey if any of you have taken sl physics do you think i could just buy either the barrons or the princeton review ap physics review book or should stick with the ib physics review book?
I guess this means I get to take SL Psychology next year.
It wasn't a wasted class after all.
I have no motivation to study for my IBSL Physics exam tomorrow...
but I need to get at least a 4 on it if I want to take SL Psych. and still get my diploma without having to worry about getting 6s and 7s on my other exams.
Should I even bother cramming this late?
HYSTERICAL LAUGHING
AP CHEMISTRY THROWBACK.
IBSL PHYSICS
WE'RE ALL LAUGHING BECAUSE WE KNOW OUR FATE
im taking sl physics because sl chemistry is hard
oh the irony....
