Slains Castle, Scotland (by martin bennie)
Good Morning from Scotland.
Slains Castle Spring Flowers by dawnlb83 Via Flickr: A spot I have been back to a few times recently. I love to see the same location at different times of year as conditions can change a shot so dramatically. this time spring flowers created a beautiful scene with fields of pink and thrift along the castle walls. Just beautful.
Birthday book haul, March 2017. I was a bit spoiled for my birthday last week and it put a big smile on my face.
Aren’t these gorgeous books?? I highly recommend The Winter Sea, and I can’t wait to read Wires and Nerve. Not pictured is the throw blanket my friend got me with a quote from Cinder. P.S. Look how adorable those Pride and Prejudice magnetic bookmarks are!
Good Morning from Scotland.
Misty morning sunrise over Slains Castle by Ian Cowe Via Flickr: Slains Castle is said to be the inspiration for Dracula's Castle in Bram Stoker's novel. Bram Stoker used to holiday at nearby Cruden Bay and went for walks to the castle. The castle was a home (home of the Earls of Errol who were the chiefs of the Clan Hay) until the 1920s when the roof was removed to avoid paying tax.
I’m spending my Saturday finishing this lovely book.
What I read in January 2017.
I’ve been a busy bee reading a lot, partly because work has been so slow that it’s the only thing helping the time pass. Crosstalk, The Hating Game, The Firebird, and Stars Above were my favourite reads in January.
Reviews: Crosstalk by Connie Willis, The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, The Firebird (Slains #2) by Susanna Kearsley, The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson, and Stars Above (The Lunar Chronicles #4.5) by Marissa Meyer.
Currently reading: The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
I really hope you all had a great start to 2017. Happy reading!
