HIS MIND WAS DISTRACTED AS HE LOOKED OUT INTO THE waves. There was something gentle about the way the waves rushed to the shore and back. It brought him comfort to stare out into the water since this was her resting place— his sister. Despite the comfort, it also made him sloppy. He felt a presence without turning around. The crackling of the bonfire now came into focus. He was sure the bodies weren’t ash yet, “ It’s not what it looks like… ” his tone soft, hardly bothered. He figured he’d have to kill this person if they didn’t mind their business, or simply trick their mind. He wasn’t so sure yet. @slaiyedher
