plot: slater is trying to sell your muse, one of her close friends, on a harebrained scheme to pretend to be a couple so they can come to a family wedding.
"you can't call it a bad idea without even hearing me out for a second!" slater insisted, immediately reaching for their hand to keep them anchored to the couch for a little while longer. this was typical of her, throwing together some half-baked and marginally insane idea, but she really did believe whatever came out of her mouth. that was the trick of it, how she had people buying into her impulsivity, how she held down her job outside of the obvious nepotism. slater bought into her own bullshit probably more than anyone else, at least on the surface.
"it's not like we'd have to do that much to prove it, okay? we could handle a couple stage kisses, i did a theatre class in college, it's not a big deal." she smiled, playful and keeping a hold of their hand in her lap. "you've been exhausted the last few weeks and this wedding is genuinely the best thing i could offer you, it's a whole week at a resort on an island and literally all you're obligated to do is hang out with me a little and go to some wedding events. please, come on. say yes."
