closed starter for @dcgtown because they liked this post ( still accepting! ). ★ plot: plot in source, with the added angst that blair is gay as fuck but never came out of the closet because she's the sheltered little preacher's daughter, so all the postcards from her travels, all the letters, they were all little pieces of her heart without ever telling y/m how she aways felt. perhaps her mom has passed and that's why she originally finally left and now her dad is sick, so she's moved back to take care of him.
blair had imagined this day many times, daydreamt about how she'd run into them again, reunite, and maybe pick up like the time they'd been apart had never existed. the fantasy had taken place in a million different settings around town, always ending up on her roof again, sharing their lives beneath the starry skies. it felt like a lifetime ago that they did that, but now, seeing them, it all came rushing back so tangibly. even despite everything she had come back for. "hi!" she squealed, an awkward, nervous interruption as she spotted them in the grocery store aisle. "i was wondering when i might see you again, i should have known fate would bring us together on the first errand i ran since being back." she greeted them so confidently, as if her heart wasn't threatening to break out of her chest.
