Samuel - Drowning locals and collecting their souls to the point he's got so many he's selling them to anyone who pays, including Adam. Just bcs he's your ex doesn't mean he's not gonna pay, pay twice as much actually. This character started this all and was supposed to be only one and there's now 7 of them and I'm publicly shaming him for that.

Adam - Čert from hell who's just is *supposed* to be collecting souls of sinners but also he hates his job and his whole life. mood lol Trying to find a way to get outta there while unable to decide wtf is between him and Samuel.

Mája - Formerly witch in life, cursed as a vampire after death. Still brewing potions. Poisons. Basement full of homemade alcohol. Struggles to adapt to vampiric life now. Almost sibling relationship with Samuel, she's the one who found him at the edge of the river the night the food washed open his grave and he turned to a monster.

Vasil - Gave up his life to the old slavic goddess of death in a desperate attempt to either become immortal to serve her or she keeps his soul and at least he dies on his own terms at a time where he knew he's next to get murdered. Now maintaining the local graveyard, burying the dead for them to not come back as monsters and exorcizing the ones who did.

Ben - Human who died in a horrific accident, crawled back up monstrous and FURIOUS. Trying to pretend everything is fine when there's a giant murder monster in your house can work only for so long and after Ben nearly snapped Vasil's neck went on a stupid trip to kick down the door of Vasil's god and demand to overturn the curse. It somehow worked to some extend, maybe bcs nobody had the balls to do it before. - That monster design is still canon. Not drawing both tho btw.

Technically Ben is a corpse and Vasil a widower, but lets call them married anyway.

Ljuba - Her mother was executed for giving birth to a dog headed child. The child dropped in the woods to get eaten by wolves. The plan did not work when she was found by Vasil. What the hell was he supposed to do, leave her there? She left the home in adulthood, to get her revenge on the village that took her first family away.

John - Czexan. He was there before Vasil - somehow worse at this job than him. His perception of the slavic god he's supposed to be serving has been warped by years of living abroad, local folklore, catholicism and a raging alcoholism. Currently lost somewhere in the middle of texas desert.
