callie had been sitting here for what felt like HOURS, watching guys kiss her girlfriend. even kissing other guys herself - just to play along. they’d barely even kissed themselves. partly because most of the time they spent together they had to act like best friends - basically dating without certain affectionate aspects. & also partly because it made callie a little nervous. WHO KNEW that a bunch of tenth graders could manage to play a game of spin the bottle for so long. it was her turn, again. she spins the bottle & it points directly to elena. a giant knot forms in her stomach. its not in the middle like had happened before & it went to the closest person on the opposite gender. “uhmm...” before she could do much but stutter there were side arguments already breaking out around them. with a shrug & a deep breath she leaned into the circle a bit. this was either going to get her the popularity she always wanted or get her shunned for eternity. it would certainly get the boys attention, but she didn’t care much for that anymore.she flashes a small, inviting smile towards elena as the arguments begin to die down & people seem to be staring, more at her than the other. “do you....?”

“CALLIE!” she heard her mother call upstairs. she would have groaned in frustration and taken her merry time if it wasn’t for the fact that she’d just heard the doorbell ring and figured, whoever it was was there for her. it seemed odd though. someone coming to the door for her at nearly 9pm on a tuesday.
“okay. OKAY!” she calls back, already on her feet and rushing down the stairs. she hears her mother mutter something about who it is, but she completely misses it and walks over, her eyes quickly taking sight of a rather distraught elena. how had she even gotten passed her mother looking like that - unless she’d kept her cool until lucia was out of sight.
“hey.” her voice is soft, trying to take in the other girl and let her know she can tell her about whatever is wrong. “what happened?”
