Dream Time

I’m floating on a ring float I think and I’m holding something (I can’t remember what it is but it’s important). Off in the distance is a large building on stilts, it made of wood. The wood is a dark, old, waterlogged color but it doesn’t feel like its unsafe. The building has a large balcony dock wrapped around it, people are partying inside, and the music is loud (can’t hear it but I just know it playing) and the people are having a good time. It’s a sunny day and as I float watching the party, I don’t feel danger. Around the building, in the ocean where I am floating there are giant rocks that make up the “beach” There is a shadow person floating behind me, I don’t see them, but it feels like it’s a man. Then I someone from the building climbs down a ladder and swims up to me frantically trying to get the thing I’m holding. Its important so as they swim up to me asking for it, I throw it to them…

So, what sticks out to me:

floating on the ocean

To dream you are floating in water suggests that you have a handle on your emotions

The ocean represents the state of your emotions and feelings.

There’s a party in the distance

To dream that you are at a party suggests that you need to get out more and enjoy yourself.

Distance becomes important in this case, sine I am not “at the party”

To see something far away suggests you are feeling emotionally distant from the thing. Alternatively, it represents something that is unattainable or something that you failed to achieve.

There’s a shadow man behind me

To see a shadowy figure signifies and aspect of yourself which you have not acknowledged or recognized.

To see a man your dream denotes the aspect of yourself that is assertive, rational, aggressive and/or competitive.

To dream that you are behind someone suggests that you are offering support and encouragement for someone.

I am holding something important,

To dream that you are holding something suggests that you are trying to control or manipulate this object. Consider the significance and symbolism of this object. Holding may also signify protection responsibility or completeness.

       Considering significance: it’s lifesaving

Someone needs the thing

To dream you are throwing something indicates that there is someone or something you need to rid yourself of.

I throw it.

To dream that someone is in need indicates that you need to be more compassionate and sympathetic to him or her. Learn to appreciate the things you have.

 My Interpretation:

I am overcoming my emotions by floating above them, there is a part of me, my aggressive side, that supports me even if I don’t give air to that part of myself. Combining Party and the distance I can say that I feel like I’ve failed to enjoy life.  I am holding something and since this thing is lifesaving, I think it represents responsibility. And because someone else needs it and I throw it away, I think I need to rid myself of some of the responsibilities (I don’t know who it is I need to be more compassionate or sympathetic to because I don’t know who this other person is) so maybe I need to appreciate what I have.

had a dream last night that i got a tux cat that just showed up & the cat was an adult. long hair. also my brothers wife was there & we were trying to figure out if the cat would be mine or hers
