im not big on lanthimos (enjoy his peculiarity, even if it's not entirely my cup of tea) but boy only 15 minutes in and the camerawork is incredibly captivating

i watched the lobster for the first time a few weeks ago and i really liked it but KoaSC looks extremely even more up my alley, the camera work just from the trailers really appealed to me. dare i say....kubrick esque.......and by kubrick esque i mean....there were slow zooms and i like that and also nicole kidman is there

there's a shot of farrell walking through the hospital and the camera tracks from behind but from an above angle, like watching some avatar in a third person video game

@sleepythug lol the shit thing is that I’m pretty sure Fury Road is only considered a “solid” performer at the box office by hollywood standards (and based on its ginormous budget), aka why no sequel was ever officially put into legitimate production. and even though it won so many awards, it didn’t win any “big” oscar categories to be considered a monumental “win” so studios aren’t willing to “risk” so much for only a “solid” performer… yikes the biz side of film/tv is so strange + exhausting i don’t recommend it :/

@sleepythug yeah this whole news story is just so strange to me like all i can do is laugh right now haha!! i think complaining about or stressing over remakes in general is sort of unnecessary (i look at them in the same way i look at covers of popular songs; it's an opportunity for one artist to take something already in existence and put their own spin on it... it's just hollywood is typically so unwilling to risk anything whatsoever that remakes usually end up just feeling bland), so I've never been totally against this idea, as rumors began to emerge about a month ago. i like that Maren Ade is producing the remake. i want to see who they cast as Jack's daughter and who they choose to direct before really allowing myself to get too excited/invested. if you haven’t yet, i would read this mubi review of the movie detailing just how fucking european the film is and how it reflects they’re current political climate, so not sure how (or if hollywood would even fucking TRY) to translate that into an american setting, particularly given our own current (disastrous) political environment.
