He missed them dearly, that much he knew. Between the Kerberos expedition and the abduction by Galra, Matt hadn’t seen his family in what seemed like years. He wasn’t sure exactly why, but with no clue how he got here, no indication of going back anytime soon, and no sign of anyone he recognized, he found himself .. wandering at night. Restless, it seems.
Tonight in particular, he found himself at the park, strolling along the beaten paths. He stops only at an overlook, looking up at the clear night sky with the same fascination he’s always had painted on his face. “... They really are incredible, no matter where you go.” He mutters, loud enough for others to hear but oblivious to it. He leans against the protective fence of the cliff as he admires the stars. “I wish they were here to see this too.”
But his reminiscing does not last long: another stands at the overlook, and it takes Matt a moment to realize it. He blinks, surprised. “Oh, sorry — I didn’t see you there. Just .. talkin’ to myself.” He offers the other a shy smile, rubbing the back of his head briefly before glancing at the sky. The silence doesn’t last long, though, as he soon turns back to the stranger, hoping to make small talk. “Do you like stargazing too?"
