I like the idea that when Grace is very old he finally decides to make the journey back to earth, knowing he likely won't make it, fulfilling his destiny of dying in space on the Hail Mary but on his own terms. But then I think about the inevitable follow-through of the ship making it to earth orbit, the whole world excited to see their savior Dr Ryland Grace only for the extraction team to find his old corpse… and like I think the kind of undercuts the vibe I'm going for ya know

Playing with my brother and we're doing the Chaos Trials and as we finished one he said "I picture that Chaos is just floating watching us and as soon as we're done just pulls out a fucking shotgun and snipes us just pulls a shotgun outa the skull like it's a bag of holding" however my first thought to Chaos with a shotgun was to pull the spinal cord through the skull so it'd be the barrel and throw the featus over their shoulder like a counter weight

it kind of baffles (and pains me) that with how naruto and sasuke's relationship developed, that they didn't end up dying in VOTE2. i think in terms of writing it would have been a pretty good choice, it's a plot twist a lot of fans wouldn't have genuinely believed even if they did anticipate it. and the idea of them dying, fans assuming it can't have happened, it must be like kakashi in the pein arc... just to slowly start to see the people close to them mourning. kurama's grief alone would have been heartbreaking to see. with him not being able to save naruto (as his own loved one) and knowing that he will carry on existing, mourning naruto. i want them to have a happy ever after (where politics of konoha are resolved, including the hyuuga seal, etc). BUT, if not that, i would rather have an utterly heart-wrenching and well written tragedy. where hopefully the shock and grief for konoha would have been a catalyst for a lot of the political changes naruto seemed to have wanted but never completed in boruto

Book Discussion Challenge, April 14

One of my first stops on my first trip to London was Westminster Abbey, and I’ll admit I mostly went for Poets’ Corner. (They don’t let you take pictures inside, so you get the exterior, sorry.) There was something about having Chaucer, Shakespeare, Dickens, Byron, Hardy, Spenser, Johnson, the Brontës, Handel, Tennyson, and so many more, in the same place, for their contributions…. I couldn’t miss it and I spent a wonderful couple hours both in the Corner and walking the floor, paying my respects to every name I recognized and probably looking mighty strange to the other visitors.
