ok ill bite. Ive been watching more anime lately than i have in a long time and gundam 00 tempts me. is there anything i should know before watching it

ok yes there are some things to warn you of—more in-depth explanation below the cut, but the short version is: evil alter trope, "man in a dress" subplot, misogyny. i'm mostly warning against Bad Writing here but if you need content warnings for any other stuff lmk! (the doesthedogdie page for the show is pretty good but i'm saying that partially because i'm the only person who's contributed to it) if after reading this you decide you don't actually want to watch the show that would be Fair. but if not then i hope you enjoy it nonetheless! (and my dms are open for liveblogging of course)

1. evil alter trope. i've mentioned this before but one of the main characters, allelujah, has a secret "second personality" named hallelujah (yeah) who murders people. credit where credit is due, halle isn't actually an antagonist by the end of the show (and alle's arc has less to do with "defeating" or "overcoming" halle so much as learning to work together with him), but the base concept is still there and they lean into it pretty hard when halle is first introduced. i like them both a lot, but i wouldn't consider them to be written well.

2. "man in a dress" subplot (season 2 episode 8). not used for humor or to demonize the character in question but it's an unnecessary usage of a pretty tired transmisogynistic trope

3. misogyny. a lot of this is what you might expect from a 2007 anime, so i don't think i need to elaborate that much (there's not that much "fanservice" stuff it's just the way a lot of female characters are written and treated), but they ramp it up to 11 with a certain subplot in season 2 episodes 19-20. if you want, feel free to ask me to explain that more and i will (there'll be spoilers involved though obviously)

hihi its just my beetle eyes 2 however i also overlay these facepaint eyes and reduce the opacity of them with the sliders to abt half to give the sclera more depth ! if youre looking for an eye preset- i didnt use one on her ^^

your art is SO good but i have to ask, is it hand drawn 2d or is it 3d rendered? i cant tell

I get asked this often but It's hand drawn 2d, I'm sort of trying to mimic cell shaded renders so that's why it looks almost 3d.

genuine question, why is "polyamory issue" a tag. i don't mean this in an accusatory manner but it does read as polyamphobic to let talk of polyamory be blacklisted

It's a tag because someone requested it to be one years ago on the old blog. Otherwise I wouldn't tag polyamory to begin with. I don't understand why, but I don't need to know a backstory for something to get a tag. If anyone who uses the polyamory issue as a blacklist tag wants to explain, feel free to. Nobody is required to explain if it's something they're not comfortable sharing, of course. :v
