I have chosen to create a 30 second animation for the poem entitled Q and this is part of the presentation that I have created to present my idea. I chose this idea as I have been advised that it will challenge me and show my progress and that I am not just a one trick pony.

I had created a 1 minute film for my first year and that was based on a love story between a potato and a tomato. If I had chosen the poem entitled Cake, I would be creating an animation similar to my first year film.

As well as using Sylvain Chomet as inspiration, I have also received a lot of inspiration from this short film entitled “slimtime” directed by Bertrand Avril, Pierre Chomart, David Dangin and Thea Matland. 

This 8 minute movie challenges societies view on body image and how society seems to try clone females for them to all have the same stick figures. 

I created these vector designs of the Oreo and the glass of milk to see what i’d be working with if I were to choose this poem. Once I created them, i realised that this wouldn’t be a difficult challenge for me so I think that aided to my decision of choosing Q.

Slimtime.  

Slimtime es un cortometraje animado muy singular, te transporta a un mundo donde las mujeres son prefabricadas para convertirse en bellas modelos, y la historia se centra en una adorable pareja, que llega a un centro de adelgazamiento.

André, un hombre delgado acompaña a su esposa gordita a un tratamiento para adelgazar, y mientras espera descubre todo lo que hay detrás de ese mundo artificial que se someten muchas mujeres, abordando también del autoconvencimiento de la protagonista. Una animación muy hermosas con muchos detalles, ágiles gráficas y colores armoniosos.

Dirigida en Supinfocom Arles en 2010 por Bertrand Avril, Pierre Chomarat, David Dangin, Thea Matland.
