Under normal conditions, Binx did everything he could as a cat to stay out of people's way during the full moon. Sure, he liked to explore and keep an eye on certain people when he could, but for the most part it was better to lay low. His unpredictable behaviors under the curse however, didn't make this so easy for him. He'd sometimes wake up after transitioning back to normal with no recollection of what happened while he was a feline, his memory often foggy but not always.
Tonight, the black cat recognized Dani's ex as Binx wandered the isle, a question he'd thought about since he first met the guy crossing his mind again. Slightly knew nothing about Binx's curse, but the feline didn't seem to care in the moment as he followed the familiar figure, breaking the silence casually. As Slightly stopped, Binx stopped as well, sitting on the sidewalk with his tail resting behind him. His human and cat mind seemed to be synced, not self-aware enough to stop himself from revealing his ability to talk. It was almost as if he expected Slightly to know who he was already. He hardly paid attention to his shock, instead listening attentively to the answer he'd been waiting for. He wondered if Dani knew this about him or not. "Mine was a mouthful too. Thackery Binx. I really only go by my last name now." @slightlyconceited
"I'm not supposed to talk to strangers." -Slightly
“Strangers? Annette hasn’t even mentioned her favorite sister?” Danielle asked with a playful pout, the alcohol in her system making her feel more upbeat and warm. It was far better than how low she had felt when she first arrived. “I’m Ellie. Next time you see my sister, tell her she’s rude .. Actually, that’s my job. You should probably avoid getting on her bad side.” @slightlyconceited
Cubby and Slightly often met up at his work when his shifts ended, sitting at a booth in the House of Mouse to eat some food and talk about their music. He still couldn’t believe that his boss was letting Slightly perform some nights, but tonight there was already someone else scheduled to use the stage. Instead, Cubby was talking to him about more lyric ideas, snacking on the plate of french fries in between them. He was waiting for just the right moment to mention his upcoming blind date — he’d gotten paired with Slightly’s ex, and he wasn’t sure if it was going to be a sore subject or not.
“Speaking of breakup songs ....” Cubby chimed in, taking the notebook of lyrics and sticking it back in his backpack. “I wanted to let you know that I, um ... I signed up for that blind date thing or whatever, but got paired with Dani? Kinda weird, right? But it’s not a big deal, I just wanted to tell you ahead of time before I went...” There was a small part of him that considered ditching it for the sake of his friend, but even if Dani was Slightly’s ex, he wasn’t going to be rude and leave her hanging. They could just hang out as friends, nothing more. “You signed up too, right? I guess it’s a good thing you didn’t get stuck with her, huh?” @slightlyconceited
Role Swap AU, in which Sly is the Brains, Murray the Thief, and you know what that makes Bentley?
The Brawn
Of course he's still a genius, it's just that his genius is focused on a mechanized suit
We've got another AU where the swaps are the other direction, and this one is as equally as fun to imagine.
Sly finally plan singular missions, but Murray can barely stay on track if he sees something shiny.
He prefers to get on the field immediately (unlike canon!Bentley) and get a feel of what's around him. Which means he's piggybacking Murray until the real mission occurs.
He's a more hands on worker, mapping and drawing up blueprints. When he was in the orphanage, his comfort was to meticulously jot down every hiding spot the gang could use to hide from Miss Puffin.
Murray is much bigger in size, but he still pees himself when Bentley runs in to a crowd of goons with the metal knuckles and baseball bat.
He's a hippo of deceit, he plays the stupid card to evade suspicion at first. But when his cover is blown, he'll easily cut his hair, change his contacts, swap some clothes. Murray can change identities much easier than Sly.
The cane in this AU could be a hammer of maybe even a fan! Get in some Sly4 stuff and make it a fan.
Murray trained his hands to maneuver a blade tipped fan to cut down enemies. The inclusion of abilities could be: air manipulation, scent pushing, face/voice masking, and the blades can be light aflame to burn items or rope!
Bentley is willing to break everything, but Sly gets a full read of enemies which makes the fights end too quickly to his liking.
Bentley was always interpreted to be the first of the gang to be orphaned (like literally before he even hatched). So his tough persona shines through from his early years protecting himself and others from bullies.
Being a small fighter, he doesn't utilize an honor system and bites and claws when desperate. It's caused issues where a fight got too bloody, but as long as it's not Bentley's blood, Murray and Sly will be okay.
His arsenal isn't anything fancy, a toolbox in the van consisting of average items like: razor blades, bats, golf clubs, metal knuckles, steel toe boots, crowbars, and knitting needles.
Murray, as the Thief in this AU, was part of a mixed criminal clan that used 1v1 to decide matters, killing was frowned upon. But that didn't stop a rival clan (with this universe's Clockwerk, would it be Raleigh or Muggshot?) from using a 1v1 to get their best fighters into the Hippo's home and storming it.
The fight killed a majority of his family, and Murray was taken by a family friend to the border of France and left for Interpol to find.
It was on this 8th birthday did a family member anonymously send him the family fan for his training to begin.
Sly was a kid of no known origin, only thing he came to the orphanage with as a baby was a note saying what his name was, a crumpled hat, and a soaked pipe.
He had a bit of a heavy smoking habit from his teen years, but Bentley got him to curb it. He still enjoys a small smoke from the pipe time to time.
The gang came together after a fight broke out at school, Sly and Murray witnessed Bentley getting over powered and tried to step in. Turns out Bentley was being meek for play and kicked everyone's butts.
He got in trouble, but Murray was intrigued with Bentley's fighting and asked if he could spar with him. The two still do it despite the massive size difference.
Sly got to be better buddies with Murray through their loss of parental figures, as the older he got, Sly started remembering little snips of his father. Nothing too firm, but the fact that he could at least hear one word in his dad's voice brought him to tears.
The three split the orphanage at 15, and their means of getting money was small jobs. And pickpocketing. Lots of pickpocketing.
Sly1 AU where Sly has a plunger instead of the cane.
A Sly Cooper AU where at the last second the Panda King bails on assisting in killing Sly's parents (because he himself is a father and doesn't want to go through with it). He shows up after the "Fiendish Four" leave the Cooper residence and takes Sly to China with him and raises him as his own son.
Also Sly learns Flame Fu.
Oh, that'd be an interesting turn!
Would Sly have Jing King as the new Brains or Muscle? Are Bentley and Murray still there? Are they with Carmelita instead?
Does Sly ever figure out that Panda King was in on the plot to kill Conner Cooper?
Sly1 AU where Sly livestreams his crimes (don't ask how he does it in 2002, just have fun with it) to the Thiefnet where patrons can donate coins to have him go through the Fiendish Five's location with dumb challenges.
Like riding a unicycle, bring back a giant mosquito to the van, stack as many hats as Sly can on his head, use the rolling ability and sing Escape From the City.
