The fact the first Flight has such a massive age range is crazy. On one end you have several thousand year old St. Elmo. On the other you have Snowbird who at this point is at most a month old. A month. Normally in a team like thisStitch who is about 16 or 17 would be youngest but no snowbird is a one month old child soldier.
And at the other end normally centuries old Wolverine would be the oldest but even he can’t beat St. Elmo for age.
The first Flight literally has two child soldiers one of whom is barely a month old (possibly three weeks depending on how long the skip between Alph Flight Vol 1 #8 backup and the Special is but I can’t be long as Mac was already gathering the Flight by that point) and one of who is borderline catatonic with a fear of herself who also enjoyed performing surgery on herself. Mac please please stop recruiting not only child soldiers but new borns and a children who need decades therapy and mental health support. It almost seems like he’s taking advantage of these kids.
At least Alec and Sean Benard are fully grown adults. But Alec is just some really smart guy and Benard is cop who killed other cops and you are blackmailing to be part of your team.
This is not team Mac this is group suicide, you are lucky that St. Elmo actually knew what he was doing how to use his powers and how to fight. The fact that of the orginal line up other than St. Elmo and Logan the only member of Flight who actually knew how to effectively use her powers and fight well enough to take out two of skilled opponents is the aforementioned borderline catatonic teenage girl!
Benard has never used his suit in a combat situation! Alec suffers massive performance anxiety! Snowbird has habit of losing her humanity for a time and just being the animal she becomes!
So the only people who actually can fight properly are, centuries old god, half crazed and depressed immortal with memory problems and a Teenage girl traumatised to the point she can’t speak and stitches up her own scars who’s only power is levitating a needle.
That’s it! That is your team Mac!
You are lucky you did not start World War Three when you deployed the flight.
At least he was bright enough to know to not bring Wildchild with them on the mission seeing as a day or so ago he mauled said traumatised teenage girl.
