I am so in love with "...Ready for it?", "Look what you made me do" and the whole reputation ERA, this is showing a completely different side of Taylor. This side of her, the new Taylor as we call her, is done with forgiving mean people for being just mean, people who used her and whose intentions are shady. I just adore her way of reacting, in Italy we say "Revenge is a dish that has to be served as cold" and reputation is pure ice. Her new music is so powerful and every time I listen to lwymmd I have goosebumps even if I play it like 100 times a day every day. But I have to say that if Taylor didn't have this country background I think that maybe I wouldn't appreciate her as much as I do now. I'm a swiftie since 2013, it's not so much time ago, but the very first song that I embraced as mine was "Love story" and I did an accelerated swiftie process from 2013, starting from her first album to this day. Don't get me wrong, she's an amazing songwriter and I would listen to her music anyway, but with those albums (from Taylor Swift to Red) she gained a certain, well, reputation, which I fell in love with since she was so different from other singers I listened to, she stood up from every other singer I was listening to. I think that now I appreciate her so much even if her music is more commercial, I mean, not everyone is into country music while most people do listen to pop, since she entered a process of evolution that led her to what she does now, it's not that she does pop because she knows a lot of people like it, but because she is more comfortable writing it now more than doing country. She's changing, but not changing at all either. I appreciate that she has this background because in county music I think we all are concerned more about what the lyrics say and we're not about the beat, while most of us listen to pop because it has a good sound. Basically what I'm saying is that throughout the years I fell in love with every single lyric, from every single song and maybe I wouldn't be able to do so if she had started with an album similar to reputation because I would be more concerned with the beat and less with the lyrics.
