"jason, look out!" in a voice that sounds panicked, it's only in the comfort of night and the gleaming neon signs that shine bright over the streets where he can get a little silly. and silly, in this instance, is playing pretend of jason todd getting hurt. with a websling here and a pull to his body there, he gently pulls the red platted mask up, along with his own, to place sneaky a kiss upon his lips. "whoops! sorry, my fingers slipped."

there's the patrols that bruce does and then there's jason's type of patrols which are different entirely. it never ends up well those nights but he had found somebody to share at least a few moments all these months ago. made the mistake of being a little too comfortable and there he was sharing a roof with a spider, entwined in his threads, he had to play pretend for a bit. this identity wasn't good at making friends, hell he almost got killed the day they met he remembers this, not one of the scariest nights of his life but somewhere close to the top five of it all.

but in some ways he finally got used to this said spider, they could be friendly and he had to learn that. he had this stupid habit of picking and choosing the people he lets into his heart and the list was incredibly small. yet it was how he lived life.

in the warmth of these signs he finds himself chatting to peter, letting himself crack under the jokes that had been said between them, the getting to know each other because he knows as much. there is this mask between them, and well with the way he was raised of course jason knows how to keep a secret, he's lived his whole life this way. he doesn't pry, jason wasn't supposed to get to know him to this extend anyway.

it's only a few weeks ago that the red hood now has a name, jason, and so does the spider. peter. it's... cute. (what?!) cute is supposed to be for.. flowers, puppies or something else and not another body. it's scary and it's something he wants to stop before he gets to far, he doesn't want to feel like this, then he remembers this feeling he had when he had met his brother's girlfriend for the first time, how her hair shined like the sun and how beautiful she was. it's the same feeling, and in truth.. he never thought he would feel that ever again. and maybe.. maybe this could be nice.

this time it's another meeting on the roof, somewhere calm and quiet, the web feels.. light around his fingertips, a place where he could be chilling for a while but he had to go, right as he was about to say something he gets scared, and then he feels the strings wrapping him, pulling him closer. in a heartbeat he gets scared but the anticipation has him.. excited? he can almost feel his heart beating out of his chest as he lets him remove the mask, then their lips make contact.. a kiss right that's where it is and he doesn't hate it. jason finds himself not hating this, hell he likes this, very much so.

so it's his turn to try this, give one back because this felt.. good. he doesn't let peter go, and kisses him in return, he doesn't say anything, but an inkling of a smile can be seen on his lips if you look a bit closer there.
