  Asher knows what a human looks like - but he knows that there are some monsters very good at looking like them too. If it weren’t for the medallion reverberating against his collarbone, he might have just passed by without fuss. But it’s there, and it’s vibrating enough to make it feel like a goddamn earthquake was settling in his chest. 

   The witcher lets his hand slip to the crossbow at his side, flicking it out of its harness with ease and raising it to the back of the strangers head. It was nothing special - but the threat of a bolt through the skull might provide a tad more leniency. He announces his presence by flicking a bolt in place, keeping it aimed steadily - whether the stranger will turn around or simply leg it, he was going to get a faceful of bolt regardless. Just not yet.    “You’re not the bugger eatin’ all the village idiots, are you?”
